Warner Bros. It always bounces back to Warner Bros. Rock said he still share some blame of course, but they can only do what they're told. It's the usual: publishers getting involved where they don't belong, and trying to get infinite money and infinite growth.
You'd like these business types are supposed to be so smart that they would understand the fact that infinite growth is not possible, nor is the growth they want sustianable. It's like they don't understand how shit works.

They either are unempathetic, too dumb to care, only got up by failing upward, and it's usually all of the above.

The same thing happened with MMOs, and the multiplayer only shooters from the late 90s and early 2000s. Right now, all they're doing is desperately grasping for straws and just waiting for whatever the next big thing is. The usual.

Sidenote. You keep bashing WB and proclaiming your refusal to consume any of their products. And I keep thinking that you're depriving yourself of some of the best recent videogaming experiences.

Let's just say I hope that you've started your boycot AFTER having played Mad Max or the Mordor games.

Not really.

Mad Max is average. Especially if we're talking about the Arkham style combat. I heard everything else is good or decent, but I'm not a hardcore Mad Max nut. I like a few of the movies, but that's about it. The Mordor games I have even less interests in. I know the combat is good and all, but I'm not a big Lord of the Rings fan. Also, WB can still screw off with those loot boxes they lied about needing, in order for the game to succeed. I got plenty of other games with better combat than either.

If I really wanted to play the games you mentioned, I can just get them used anywhere.

The best explaination I can think of is that companies are big ships and big ships take a long time to change course. So this game was already in the planning and development stages of being live service before the live service thing started to fail, but now it's kind of too late to totally abandon it for this game, so they have to try and piece it together in a way that will soften the blow as much as possible.

We'll have to see.

The brawling part of Mad Max is quite weak (ooh, I suddenly see how this could be an issue with you), but they are really marginal to the game, I had even forgotten about them. Mad Max is mostly about gritty vehicular combat and gorgeous environments, and those are astonishing. Also, the Mordor games are way more enjoyable when you're not a Tolkien fan, because they're really awful takes on that universe. I deliberately play them as generic heroic fantasy, blocking out any direct Tolkien references. And as such, they are quite brilliant. The awful loot boxes mechanics have been removed since launch, if I'm not mistaken. I haven't encoutered anything annoying in that respect, and it's a sort of thing I'm quite intolerant about.

Mad Max : Our best selling point is our vehicle combat (still was overly clunky and kind of jank, and at the mercy of an upgrade tree that meant you didn't get the real feel until the end of the game.... leading into....

Mad Max : Lets only have like 4 of these car convoy fights in our 40 hour sandbox... and put you on foot for the final boss lol.

Bro Mad Max was fun AF.
For you.

Hence why I mentioned, the other stuff are good or decent. I do miss the other reason why I never got into Mad Max, was because I was sick and tired of the real is brown or gunmetal gray color aesthetic. I know Mad Max is the grandfather of this stuff, but it's at least better looking than most of the games that try to pull that crap off.

I deliberately play them as generic heroic fantasy, blocking out any direct Tolkien references. And as such, they are quite brilliant. I can see why you enjoy it. I've already known about the loot boxes being removed, but it's the principle of the matter. The fact that it didn't affect their bottom line proves that they weren't needed in the first place, and was just something that used to squeeze extra money out of the consumers and to manipulate those with addictive tendencies or don't know how to handle their cash/parents or guardians' money.

Mad Max : Our best selling point is our vehicle combat (still was overly clunky and kind of jank, and at the mercy of an upgrade tree that meant you didn't get the real feel until the end of the game.... leading into....

Thank you for proving my point.

The KFC double down has been a thing for over a decade now. Where the hell you been?
I don't think I've been to KFC in like Forever. Usually I eat at one of the local places for Fried Chicken or maybe go to Popeyes.

I also haven't had cable in like forever either, and whatever internet ads apparently aren't from KFC or I've been completely ignoring them so effectively I don't fucking remember them. Which is possible because I honestly can't remember what fucking ads I see on youtube or as website popups, it's all fucking white noise where I'm just waiting for the stupid little "skip ad" button to appear or frantically trying to find the little "x" tucked in the corner.

Popeyes is expensive as fuck! And that was even before covid. Afterward, it gets ridiculous. It's not even worth getting the coupons anymore. Last time I ever remember Popeyes being decently cheap was the mid to late 2000s. By the 2010s, their price kept increasing every few years. I'm not defending KFC either, but I just wanted to point that out.

I honestly don't go there often(maybe once every year or three) but I never go to KFC or Chick-fi-le at all. Plenty of local places that make good chicken to not have to bother, despite a fair number having closed down due to the pandemic.

I have never had Popeyes because there are none around me that I'm aware of. Honestly I've not ordered fried chicken like KFC or Cane's in forever because it's never been something I've sought out. Sometimes I get a spicy chicken form Wendy's but that's it.

This makes the third game where 32GB RAM is creeping in as a more common requirement for certain performance levels.
PC master race gonna have to step up their RAM RODS then.

What is Rocksteady thinking? They broke the mold with Arkham Asylum, but now, after harnessing so much success - they're looking for ways to follow the latest trends?! Everything I've seen of the game so far makes me think that there isn't a single creative bone left in that team...
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

I've stuck with 32GB ever since my video-production days. However, this is gonna hurt anyone building for AM5 systems, since DDR5 is still expensive and really tetchy.

Isn’t AM5 cross compatible with DDR4? I swear I’ve seen motherboards boasting that. Either that or I’m hitting the booze too hard.

Weirdly, Popeyes is the cheapest of the 3 around here (KFC is in the middle and Mary Browns (which is Canadian, possibly Ontario only) is the most pricey).

Not that any of them are "cheap" nowadays (even moreso that I'd have to doordash them, because all the chain-fast foods are in little plazas around the edges of my town and I live in the downtown (where all the dine-in places are))
