Quite the opposite.Just saw this, Nikki Haley, one of the republican candidate for president (who has no chance of being picked) claim that social security and medicaid are going bankrupt in 10/5 years, therefore something need to be done. Her solution is to cut the program for those that are currently in their 20s, ie not the people who will use those program in 5/10 years... 20-somethings pay little attention to politics, are relatively complacent about healthcare because they have few health problems, barely vote, and when they do vote don't much vote Republican. Nikki Haley is proposing throwing a load of people who wouldn't vote for her under a bus for the benefit of those that might vote for her. In terms of getting herself elected, that's smart. I mean, the policy itself doesn't need to be any good and doesn't need to be done. She just needs to send the right signals to voters.
