What, you're not excited to see Shrek do LoTR and GOT jokes?Yo the dumbass news keeps rolling today! What the fuck is happening right now?
Aw, it's not another sequel trilogy ripping off the originals and bringing Palpatine back again? Boo!SWCE 2023: Three New Star Wars Movies Announced

I find it funny they wrote themselves into a corner and they have to stick with prequels for now on. Almost making them no different from when George Lucas took them home. At least Lucas had a plan, even if it didn't work out right.SWCE 2023: Three New Star Wars Movies Announced

I still remember all the way back in 2007 when nearly everyone was hating on her aside from younger Star Wars fans. I'm glad to see Ashoka get her own spin-off series. Best of luck. The latest installment in my toxic relationship with Star Wars. Dare I say it looks pretty good?
This is what I hope they're able to do with Rey. Which is what they seem to be trying to do, her movie is the only non-prequel thing. Directed by the Ms Marvel lady, which... yeah doesn't really give me much confidence. The show wasn't awful and she seems to be award winning, but not the type I'd think you'd want for a blockbuster.I find it funny they wrote themselves into a corner and they have to stick with prequels for now on.

I know nothing about her apart from character design bring kinda cool (unlike miss teenage hair dye, there).I still remember all the way back in 2007 when nearly everyone was hating on her aside from younger Star Wars fans. I'm glad to see Ashoka get her own spin-off series. Best of luck.
Looks like she can pull it off. Probably helps that she's been giving a bigger budget than whatever Miss Marvel was. This is what I hope they're able to do with Rey. If I remember correctly, the lady with the tie-dye hair is a now grown up character from Star Wars Rebels. Her name escapes me, but she was a teenager in that series.I know nothing about her apart from character design bring kinda cool (unlike miss teenage hair dye, there).

My issue is with her look. It's so "temporary fashion, earth age bracket", it breaks my immersion in that world as much as attack of the revenge of the clone's american coffee shops or x-wings alliance's emails. It's neither space look nor neutral-ish unnoticable, it's just... cheap-ish, out of place, chewing-gum-ey ?If I remember correctly, the lady with the tie-dye hair is a now grown up character from Star Wars Rebels. Ok, this could just be me, but my enjoyment of new Star Wars films is less than my enjoyment of fans getting upset at terrible new Star Wars films. And that's not because I really like the latter.
Why?
Supposedly this movie will take place 15 after Rise of Skywalker.Ok, this could just be me, but my enjoyment of new Star Wars films is less than my enjoyment of fans getting upset at terrible new Star Wars films. And that's not because I really like the latter.
But it is a little bit funny, isn't it?
More seriously, given that nobody liked Rise of Skywalker, maybe they think they can make a sequel and end the story properly.
I don't feel too bad for the fans, because they're part of the problem. I know not all fans, there's plenty of them that just wanted to relive the same thing over and over again. Disney catering to them and backstabbing them that's just trying to cater to them again, without a plan was and is a huge issue. The only Star Wars movie I hate are Attack Of The Clones and Rise. Return of the Jedi I did find underwhelming. I really hate the Ewoks. So I feel bad for Star Wars fans because the biggest hype, the movies, almost all are completely butts. IMO I think there are 3 decent Star Wars films. New Hope, Empire, and Rogue One. That's it.
As an aside, maybe more appropriate for the hot take thread, but I swear hardly anyone seemed to talk about liking Lance Reddick in their entertainment till after his death, which I suppose is perhaps one of those frustrating human social quirks difficult to avoid. It's just I remember praising his presence in various things in the past, especially HZD Sylens (which has always been my psn profile pic cos the other options are kinda consistently awful), while no-one else appeared to even bother mentioning him as a positive or anything at all...to the point where I distinctly recall wondering if I was the insane one for bringing him up each time. It always was some other actor in the entertainment ppl would praise or highlight instead. It's just, I dunno, feels like another one of those icky situations where ppl have to die before anyone bothers to notice and appreciate them. It happened with a recently deceased family member too, except far more polarised: cause other family members would constantly talk shit about them while they were alive, yet the second they're dead they now only talk like they were best friends, and it's such obvious bullshit. The latter is worse though, am at least understanding of a public media figure being generally less noticed till their passing. In a rather unusual turn of events, the cause of death for beloved actor Lance Reddick was determined by a coroner, but the family and family attorney have disputed the finding. Per Deadline and TMZ, the Lance Reddick death certificate lists the cause of death as “Ischemic Heart Disease” and “Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease,” or in other words — heart disease. However, his family deems this implausible since it does not align with the exceptionally healthy life the actor had been living.
“The information appearing on the death certificate is wholly inconsistent with his lifestyle,” said family attorney James Hornstein in a statement. “On behalf of [Lance’s wife] Stephanie Reddick, the death certificate information is not corroborated and is inconsistent with the facts known to the family.” Hornstein added anecdotally that Reddick was “the most physically fit person I’ve ever known,” and the actor even had a stipulation in his contracts that gym facilities be made available to him when working away from home. The family does not believe the autopsy could have reasonably demonstrated heart disease was the cause of death for Reddick.
To be clear, while this is a peculiar discrepancy, nobody is suddenly claiming foul play or jumping to any extreme conclusions. This is just another unfortunate episode in a tragic story, and it is not known if Reddick’s family intends to take further action on the matter.
On the bright side, fans and the companies that worked with him have taken to honoring Lance Reddick in various ways, especially with Commander Zavala in Destiny 2. Choosing how to honor a character after their actor has passed away is tricky, but people have been heartfelt across the board in their treatments of Reddick.
The irony -
If Van Damme isn't in it, then I don't give a shit.
I'm sure that's a fanfic somewhere.Oh, but apparently they were going to change the setting of the Harry Potter movies to the US. Fingers crossed, this time it happens.
I want a god-awful US adaptation. Which is dark and edgy. And the kids are teens and make bad pop cultural references all the time.
Not that I'd actually watch it or anything, but still.
Oh this was known about for years. There was also a rumor that Brandon Lee was supposed to be in the Mortal Kombat movie before his untimely death, but that turned out to be false. The irony -
Turns out Jean-Claude Van Damme passed on Mortal Kombat more than once
