This is a bad idea. Keep that guy away from...well everything.
Um, why? He's a good director. This is a bad idea. Keep that guy away from...well everything.
I think Waititi is a good director. That said, his sensibilities may not be the right one for an Akira adaptation.Um, why? He's a good director.
Specifically with comedies. Akira has too many things in it that fall apart if you don't play them straight and take them seriously.Um, why? He's a good director.
Yeah, LIzzo and Jack Black kinda stood out and not in a good way. Nothing against either of them but that whole thing felt like a weird side quest episode. The mandalorian notably seems to have a problem with the show alternating between good world building content and pointless bullshit sidetrips, which wouldn't be so bad if the seasons weren't 8 episodes long and a ton of money being dropped into this.Once again, Disney does not have a plan.
I doubt they've even cast the thing.Well that was informative.
Looks entertaining; I'm down for it.So duhraaaakoola is back big time and I don't complain although each new angle still feels terribly derivative. Nic Cage? fun, but the trailer looked like a What We Do In The Shadows rip-off. And this looks like the long version of that second Moffat/Gatiss episode.
I love the Demeter, it's the most haunting setpiece of the novel and of the nosferatu films, so I feel a mix of "yay good idea" enthusiams and nerdy "oh noes now everyone will know that darth vader is named anakin" dispossession. But also... it's apparently about a manbat à la Blood The Last Vampire, which is much less creepy than the Count (it's just "Alien the 8th passenger" at sea ?). And the outcome is a tad predictible, I doubt they'd pull a Tarantino re-writing (and so this time Dracula never reached England The End).
So don't know.
Also Liam Cunningham is a captain yet again, which oddly feels very tv.

Are anyone's? Let's say you get the perfect director, you still wouldn't be able to get the budget necessary to properly put this story on screen in live-action. But let's say you get the perfect director AND the budget necessary, would they actually have the dialoge be in japanese? Yeah, probably not.I think Waititi is a good director. That said, his sensibilities may not be the right one for an Akira adaptation.
