Dead Island 2 reviews are out; Seems everyone agrees that it's your standard zombie mayhem game, filled with hidden secrets and wacky/quirky characters. It's a dumb fun game, and you shouldn't expect any deep narrative driven experience or complex game mechanics

Personally, I would prefer Dying Light 2 instead, because that game at least has parkour for fun movements.

And I just realized; Why is it called dead "island" 2 if it's taking place in LA? Is it a symbolic thing representing how cut-off the player is from the rest of the world in the game?
I posted about this yesterday. The island in the name, is an artifact title. It's been that way since they first announced it.

I certainly would've liked Dishonored 3.
Yeah same, really liked both dishonored (with some big caveat, but overall fun) but still haven't played death loop and still have no interest in it. It's really not an interesting premise for me. But I'm guessing that arkane is just going away from the immersive sim style of game and going toward more shooter, if redfall is any indication. Although I can't really blame MS for this, my guess is if they didn't buy arkane, they would have failed.

So Teslagrad 2 stealth released last night. Not sure if anyone knows of the first much, it didn't click quite for me but can see what others who love the game can see. Is just the feel of the movement, didn't pop the way other platformers do, felt off in some way. But steampunk is a long-held love and is always good to see more being made 👌

And Cult of the Lamb gots new free content! (Gets. Will get, I meant! Not out. Not yet tho, hands off!)

Look, I applaud the drvs for continuing to support this game without leaning too much into live-service territory, but damn the game looks old and outdated. Maybe try for graphical overhaul or sequel?

Apparently Hi-Fi Rush didn't perform up to expectations

While Hi-Fi Rush is great, I think this is a sign that Xbox has too little activity and is losing player interest.

It met expectations; just not Microsoft's pathetic expectations! Hi-Fi Rush won the hearts and minds of gamers everywhere!

Wonder how much Microsoft paid them.

Would think it’ll wind up on other platforms eventually.

It's already on Steam. I've got it on my steam wishlist.

The only reason I haven't bought it yet is because I'm still hip deep in a 100+ hour CRPG and no point in picking up any more(absent a deep discount) until I'm done wth that.

Microsoft bought Bethesda, which includes Tango Games. In-house developer of Bethesda. Other than Steam, it's not going anywhere else sadly.

They shadowdropped, barely any marketing, and put it on Gamepass day one, and somehow not enough people ended up buying it? How could that be?

But it's a game with near unanimous acclaim, both from critics and audiences. That in itself is a win for team green at this point.

That said, supposing it didn't sell great so far, it seems like the kind of game that'll keep selling for a good long while, so might end up profitable from long tail sales.

The amount of FOMO I've had this last year with ER and all the Long CRPGs I've been playing has been rough. Cult of the Lamb, Tunic, Hi-Fi Rush, Hunt the Night, God of War Ragnorak, Metriod Prime Remastered, Chained Echos, Advanced Wars 1+2, Triangle Strategy(which I've finished all of 3 chapters of). And of course, Blasphemous 2 is coming out in like 2 months and I need me some excommunication.

All games that look so fun and I can focus on like 1 at a time to have any hope of finishing one. And I've still got like 3 games(Wind Waker, Frostpunk, Homeworld: Deserts of Karak) I need to go back and finish once I'm done with Pathfinder: Very Long Game.

I almost feel relieved when a game I was looking forward to turns out to be merely okay so I know I can safely unwishlist it.

The best excuse I can see, is that it didn't get enough direct money because of Gamepass. People basically played it for free because how do you allocate people already subbed to GP and playing a new game as funds for that new game? Unless MS really expect people to play it on GP then love it so much they buy it outright from the store, which nobody is going to do.

The majority of sales must have been on PC and non-gamepass users.

Which showcases how bad GP actually is. It's great for games that are old and well past their "sell by" date. But dropping a new release on it day 1, is only going to lead to disappointing sales because it literally gives players a reason to never buy the game.

Apparently some people think DICE is teasing Battlefront 3, with the stormtrooper helmet on the back and the DICE making III.

Stupid-observation-thanks-now-can't-unsee aside, I don't have too much faith in EA, or DICE for that matter. They fucked up with Battlefront 2, did okay with BF5, and completely destroyed my faith in them with BF2042.

Title says it failed to break even but article just says it failed to meet expectation. Those two things are very different and its a shame it muddy the message so much. Also seems like a game that would really benefit from being on the switch.

It would not surprise me, if they're that foolish or ignorant. Also, chalk another one up of those dumb "sold below expectation" excuses the big corpos keep using.

I really wish that heavy defenders of Game Pass would realize this, but they're either too fanboyish, or blinded by convenience to notice (I don't need physical versions of this game! I have game pass!). On top of all that, it is really bad DRM.

It would better benefit on Steam, Switch, or PS4 and PS5, before XBOX. This is a game that would have been on a PS2 or GameCube back then.
