I mean i suppose in theory she could apply her charms upon women as well. Though im not sure how well that stereotype would work because you'd also have to have the other character be into her, which wouldnt typically be the case. Though i guess in Western media everybody is into everybody else these days.Black Cat was apparently already confirmed bisexual in 2021, so yes she is still into men as well. And gay, straight, or bi, I don't see why this would ruin her as femme fatale.
For one, Aloy looks way better in the sequel - I don't know what glasses people are wearing to think she looks worse. Every character's face in Forbidden West looks freaking immaculate. And secondly, yeah, MJ looks weird, but so does Peter, and so does Harry. There's some kind of graphical consession made to this game, either due to it's size or something else, that makes most of the faces look slightly flat. It also doesn't help that all three of them are the most boring-ass looking white people this side of Full House. This is Spider-Man, this is Marvel, which means everyone needs to look as inoffensively regular as possible.Kinda funny how MJ looks like her got hit with a shovel but they let the unavailable bi-girl still be smoking hot. MJ got a drastic downgrade from the last game the same way Aloy looks worse in the sequel for some reason. I just want my unibtainable hotties back man.
They never left. Quit your wangsting and act like a fucking adult. Nobody is "uglifying" women. You just have shallow guys (and some gals, but it's usually the guys) with pathetic and highly unrealistic expectations to whack off on "their waifus" that are "real to them".I just want my unibtainable hotties back man.
Dont talk about Full House that way!!!!!For one, Aloy looks way better in the sequel - I don't know what glasses people are wearing to think she looks worse. You know you can enjoy good looking characters without wanting to fuck them right? This isnt weeb shit this is me not wanting to look at ugly ass characters for however many hours it takes to complete a game. They never left. Quit your wangsting act like a fucking adult. Admittedly then, there’s been a recent trend (at least in the west) towards reversing the “unrealistic” beauty standards seen in the past. It’s pretty telling when even females have called it out. They never left. Quit your wangsting act like a fucking adult. Nobody is "uglifying" women. Yes, but it still doesn't stop the obvious suspects and assholes constantly crying like they lost something, or they don't have any options. You know you can enjoy good looking characters without wanting to fuck them right?
Could have fooled me. I do admit some characters do look wonky. Like @Casual Shinji said, it's probably from probably how Insomniac decided to process the game with its expanded open world exploration and character switching. Then again, Horizon Forbidden West has excellent character facial animations, so I don't know what Insomniac's excuse is on that one. This isnt weeb shit this is me not wanting to look at ugly ass characters for however many hours it takes to complete a game.
That I can agree on.The tech is cool but it shouldnt come at the cost of things that matter. I have noticed that the characters have much less ability to emote compared to 2018s game, and maybe it is the shadows that are doing that.
Notice how it's mainly the AAA games doing this. I don't have trouble admitting it's a problem or how certain studios handle it, but I am not going to lose sleep over this.Admittedly then, there’s been a recent trend (at least in the west) towards reversing the “unrealistic” beauty standards seen in the past. It’s pretty telling when even females have called it out.
I noticed. But apparently it’s not so much an attempt at being “realistic” as it is a lack of accurate representation of VAs’ likenesses themselves in several cases, as explained here -
"Society's" definition of beauty is BS any way. Beauty is always the eye of the beholder. How someone wants to look or dress is up to them. I ain't gonna judge or pressure them much. Especially when it's none of my goddamn business. Besides, Asian countries like Japan and China have the opposite problem. Every character has to look like a hot super model, teenage or 20s/barely 30 something character, otherwise people won't by our product! Even people and the lead developer of the Yakuza Team at Sega admitted this when praising Tsushima.Basically for whatever reasons the west seems to be saying, feminine beauty is not something to be admired anymore.
Forgive me for not watching a video with the thumbnail title 'the west hates women' with the usual cherry picked examples. Again, have people actually played Forbidden West, or at least watched a let's play!?Admittedly then, there’s been a recent trend (at least in the west) towards reversing the “unrealistic” beauty standards seen in the past. It’s pretty telling when even females have called it out.

Actually it is more about the expectation of men being grizzled and tough. The "ugliness" on men comes from being badasses, surviving through war and battle. And gee, I wonder why that is? Could it be because women are automatically judged on their looks and men aren't? Surely not, right?
Nope. Neither have I, but I am not going to waste my time hating on a game for not having super model characters. It's the apocolypse, not everyone is going to like a hot super model 24/7.Again, have people actually played Forbidden West, or at least watched a let's play!?
Ironic that mention that:Kiryu from Yakuza next to Jin from Ghost of Tsushima or Peter from Spider-Man with the title 'ew, why are men in western games so ugly'.
“The protagonist [Jin] isn’t a particularly handsome lead, don’t you think? At your typical [Japanese] company, if you showed concept art for a character like him, I don’t think it would be approved.” The marketing team, he continued, would offer all this data stating why such a lead character was a bad idea, and that would be the end of a lead like Jin. Nagoshi thought it was amazing that such a protagonist was the lead character.“All this money and development time is being spent on this middle-aged dude.” He applauded the resolve to entrust things in such a character. From what Nagoshi said, it doesn’t seem like that would be possible in Japan. Perhaps he thinks game companies would prefer a younger protagonist, which is certainly more common in Japanese games.
Its just your average pandering that every modern wester game need to have. Imagene paying full priece to a spiderman game, only to play as some random deaf girlIs there some rule in gaming where every women has to be taken or not interested in men? Black Cat had a son in the first game, but she is a lesbian now.
There is a Gay couple you help with a very romantic Homecoming proposal that i thought was lovely. Couple gay nerds trying to out nerd each other it was sweet. But they are original characters so they fit into the world well. Trying to shake up the inclusion by modifying established characters is really annoying.
I would be okay if they were doing a different dimentional version of Felicia but they arent and they already established her heterosexuality in the first game. She is Peter's ex on top of having a kid with someone else. I suppose the argument can be made that she was always bi, and she just batting tacos these days but the transition is so jarring.
Also knowing shes not into men completely ruins her feme fetal motif. Her allure is her ability to sexually confuse Spider-Man, but when you immediately have her talking about her girlfriend all that mystery about her goes out the window and she loses all point as a character in Spider-Man's world.
Which is not so much as physical attraction/sexy and just the general power fantasy. That's always been there and something men don't worry about.Actually it is more about the expectation of men being grizzled and tough. The "ugliness" on men comes from being badasses, surviving through war and battle.
And women generally also want the same. Regardless of your own looks generally people want to see attractive people. In the real world and in fiction.
Society doesnt dictate attraction either, bIology does. Being attract generally indicates health, a good body indicates successful mating outcomes in the mans eye looking at a woman, and it indicates strength and protection in the woman's eye when looking at a man. Media and society has just capitalized on this biology, they havent changed it. At best media moves the needle here and there slightly, but Kelly Bundy was hot in the 90s and if she was the same girl today she'd still be hot.
Wrong. They capitalized it and made many fantasies impossible to reach or have unrealistic expectations, while trying to have it both ways at times. Dude, you've done this conversation a million times here, and it's still shit.Media and society has just capitalized on this biology, they havent changed it.
That only further proves my point.“The protagonist [Jin] isn’t a particularly handsome lead, don’t you think? I find it ironic that black man is complaining about playing as a deaf black woman in one minor segment and using the termIts just your average pandering that every modern wester game need to have. Imagene paying full priece to a spiderman game, only to play as some random deaf girl
Please don't with this.Society doesnt dictate attraction either, bIology does. Being attract generally indicates health, a good body indicates successful mating outcomes in the mans eye looking at a woman, and it indicates strength and protection in the woman's eye when looking at a man. Yeah, he's going on his armchair "theory and evidence" again. Always has been full of shit forever more. Please don't with this.
We're not attracted to "good biology", since we can't see good biology. Just because a hot girl is hot doesn't mean she can't have a heart disease, and just because a dude is ripped doesn't mean he can't have reproductive problems. It really doesn't mean shit. We think it means something, because we're told that to look like that is the best human you can possibly be, but that's primarily optics. The "ideal" body types we see today didn't exist 100 years ago, and back then people still got boners for eachother the same as they do today.
Also, you know... gay men and women.
I know right? How dare him, have a opnionI find it ironic that black man is complaining about playing as a deaf black woman in one minor segments and using the termgay"ghey" as an insult. Hey butt-fuck Remy, are you 12-20+ years ikd and from the 90s and 2000s? Because man the fuck up and cut the self-hating bullshit out and sexism.
Him not liking the section is fine. I do have a problem with him using gay as an insult like he's Riley from Boondocks. I'm not here to defend every unexpected gameplay change/switch to a completely different character, but have some fucking class about it.I know right? How dare hehimhave an opinion
