Giving up the MMO style sounds great to me, but at the same time, this realtime combat doesn't look particularly good either. I found it hard to look at (literally) with all the camera movements and particle effects.

I just hope we can customize our party member AI like in 1/2, rather than letting them do whatever they wanted like inquisition.

Our new customizable ability wheel will help you turn the tide of battle at any time. It will allow you to pause the action, issue commands to your followers, use abilities, and unleash devastating combos. As you become more powerful, you can start to see the potential in how much fun (and hectic) things can get.
Okay, it looks like we have to pause the game everytime we want to issue an command or set off a combo? No mention of manually controlling the companions either.

And it looks like the ability wheel might be the only way to pop off the next move. Really miss the numeric shortcuts using my keyboard. Also no talks about going to overhead view, issuing positioning to companions.

There's supposed to be dev QnA over at discord soon, so hopefully people will ask some wise questions there

So that sound like a no on customize party member behaviour.

I wouldn't put much trust in QnA, their usually so rigid that they might as well not bother since they just pick questions that they already approve of.

Caught a clip of the Easy Allies folks praising a demo of the upcoming Dragon Age.
I'm excited for it! Seems like a game I will like and the franchise "fans" will hate. I can't wait, I love disagreeing with internet.

You know Ubisoft, I realize AC games are hyper-fictionalized history games so we should expect some inaccuracies, but if you are gonna make a character based on a real-life person, and trying to appease the people whose history is the background of your next game, the least you could do is NOT FUCK UP SOMETHING SO SIMPLE. I mean I can maybe understand the fuck up on the kanji, but FFS you guys seriously didn't have prototype or someone who can read Kanji to ensure details?

I thought you guys were all about DEI; So wtf is this shit?

I'm not surprised in the slightest, and it's proof that Ubisoft (Mainly those at the top) really doesn't care enough to check their sources and research most of the time. I found out about this earlier this morning on space battles.

Embracer unembraces another studio. though heard the reboot had the writer from SOMA involved though so feel a bit obligated to try suffering through the awful combat to see where it goes at some undefined future point.

Publisher Saber Interactive has today given us a look at the upcoming release, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead.

This narrative-driven horror game is inspired by the film series, which includes two John Krasinski-directed releases as well as an upcoming prequel spin-off.

It was first announced to be in the pipeline back in 2021, however at this time all we had was a logo and the promise of an original story and gameplay that "captures the compelling suspense, emotion and drama for which the series is famous".

Saber says the upcoming game, which is being developed by Stormind Games, is designed for fans of the films and horror. "Experience the journey of a young woman struggling to endure not only the nightmarish creatures of the apocalypse, but also the anguish of interpersonal family conflicts and her own inner fears," reads the official blurb.

"With nothing more than your wits and the simple tools you can scavenge, you'll have to overcome the many treacherous challenges and obstacles that lay ahead, all while trying to survive an ever-present threat of the unknown enemies."

As you would expect given its inspiration, silence will play a key part in A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead. Saber warns that even a single noise can be all it takes to give away your position. So, to put it Bluntly, tread cautiously.

On its release later this year (exact date TBC), A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will be available across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Those interested can add it to their wishlists now.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is one of several projects still in the works from Saber after the publisher was sold by Embracer earlier this year. Other upcoming releases include Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Jurassic Park: Survival.
the developer's past work doesn't bode for much hope however - remothered a game they somehow claim on their site is award winning

In today "this is why we can't have nice thing" some vultures are suing Valve/steam for controlling PC game price, their reason that people selling trough steam can't sell lower on other platform (true in text, but in practice they can always discount them, see free EGS game that also are on steam). Obviously this is just a bunch of jackass (scientific name: Lawyer) who are hoping valve chose to settle out of court because its cheaper that way.
