They absolutely are, well, I suppose if you want to be anal about it, they are framing it as saving AMERICA! not democracy.
Both sides always frame it as an election to save America! The democrats are framing this election as the election to save democracy for like a year now. You don't get to say you're the party of saving democracy and then removing people from ballots.
What do you think "stop the steal" is? That's exactly that framing.
And Republicans do this after having attempted to disenfranchise entire states.

To be fair, Phoenixmgs is far too incoherent and inconsistent to be a Russian asset. Actually being incoherent and inconsistent is what makes him a good russian asset, a lot of what he says are their talking points. Gorfias is a standard republican and all that that implies, but hes not a russian asset, hes just a republican.

When has the republicans said that if Biden or Harris win, that will cause the downfall of democracy. Trump has said so much random ass shit, and I don't even think he's said that. Arguing over the results is not saying the other party is legit going to end democracy if elected as the democrats have claimed.

Notice how they didn't try and pull this right before the election, they left enough time for it to go through the courts and the courts ruled against it. Should they have? Maybe, maybe not. We have an interesting situation where we have a criminal candidate who is using the fact he was the presumptive nominee then the nominee to avoid criminal prosecution. So, should a political candidate be above the law? We already know a president is, thanks to the supreme court, we can't even investigate presidential wrong doing.

Trump has also been saying that Biden and Democrats are a "threat to Democracy" for months as part of his campaigning.

For all this arguing over who is for democracy and who isn't, I always kind of chuckle to myself. Republicans are pretty clearly not for democracy given everything Trump has said but Democrats are also constantly doing everything they can to keep Green Party off of the ballots

Whether it's a good decision politically is irrelevant because how can a party that claims to be saving democracy say that with a straight face when they constantly try to remove other parties from the ballot? Both parties will do whatever they can to make sure that they get to stay in power (which is also why we will NEVER ever see Rank Choice in this country).

What's hilarious is that Trump is trying to have his conviction overturned on the basis of Presidential immunity... when the crime was committed before he even first ran for President. He basically wants winning the Presidency to be a lifelong shield for any wrongs ever committed.
Republicans would burn this country to the ground if a Democrat made that argument.

I think hes trying to argue that some of the evidence was gained while he was president, and thanks to the supreme court, you aren't allowed to even investigate anything a president does. So hes arguing that evidence was found illegally.
