A game on release is still less than the PlayStation at $70 against $150 (because who buys unmodded in this scenario?) and can be expected to work with a minimum of fuss. And if they don’t, refund or other recompense is readily available.

I don’t disagree it’s doable and if you want it then you can certainly find a way, but for someone for whom gaming is an enjoyable hobby rather than for lack of a better word lifestyle then its going to be a very limited value proposition against the rest of everyday life.
But, for $150 you get access to one of the best console libraries ever. PS1 too since it's backwards compatible. For the price of two mediocre modern AAA games more interested in selling DLC and micro-transactions than being good games. Hardly even seems like a choice to me.

Seems like a lot of trouble when there are so many new great games coming out all the time that aren't aaa full priced.

There aren't. Even if I was into the new slop and way more of the indies that can't do what studios did twenty to twenty-five years ago, having no access to the old beyond what the publishers choose to port would be so depressing.

Sekiro - 43 hours

Elden Ring...

Bleh. They beat this horse to death. Doubled and tripled down on too many of the negatives and repeated themselves until it was beyond tiresome.
Ehh…understandable but i personally have more hours in it than any other FROM game simply because of how well it facilitates build variety and experimentation. This is just on Steam for instance (although presumably still highly exaggerated by the playtime algorithm, AFK, etc.) -

I’d imagine a similar instance on console, but in either case more realistically it’s still tracking pretty highly.

While I don’t agree with all of it, this article basically sums up the issue I think a lot of other people generally have -

It’s what happens after seven games worth of iteration on the same formula (five if excluding Bloodborne and Sekiro) let alone the same engine. I’m still curious as to what they’ll do next though. Miyazaki has said he considers Elden Ring to be the “limit” in terms of scope and scale for their games.

He's not even worth it. So don't waste any more energy. Be happy there's plenty of others people with more and bigger perspectives that enjoy these games.

Actually, I do remember now that portions of A Hat in Time felt sterile compared to what studios made in the fifth generation.

Players have been eating the scripted over-the-shoulder slop with the canned animations like moving between narrow walls (19:35) for so long that even they can't imagine a modern Dino Crisis as anything but. (Again, a perspective so overpowering that you'd have to throw too many dinosaurs at the player for a survival horror.) The tiresome, super dumb crouch-makes-quiet is there too (13:19). Shame on them.

Also, Regina wasn't wearing latex (It was probably leather over some kind of polyester.), didn't have a massive butt and DD breasts, you coomers!

Why did they make her English?

Buried with her favorite cheese grater? What's the humorous connection between spider and cheese grater? This isn't even as funny as Banjo Kazooie.

I don't know what it exactly is, but I can barely ever finish Super Double Dragon (Return of Double Dragon in JPN). I rather just play Double Dragon IV. The first sentence is a lie. I know exactly why. SDD/RoDD is too repetitive. I give credit where it is due with the move set, but enemies are usually the same 3 set of guys, and they're AI is not terrible, but not as good as the AI in NES games. I am mainly referring to DD1 and DD2, despite only fighting two people at a time in those games. They at least have a better and more distinct roster of mooks. SDD doesn't have any Lindas/female mooks, so it's definitely lacking. Not helping matters with Double Dragon Advance being the best and distilled game in the franchise that makes SDD look like a wet noodle.

SDD on its own an okay game, at least better than all versions of DD3, yet there is not enough there to keep me invested for multiple runs. Especially with so many brawlers already better than it when the game first launched.

This is indie humour. I don't know why, but so many games have a similar tone. I think it's resulting brain damage in young adults from exposure to too many memes.

Bullshit. I don't play every indie game under the sun, not all of them use the same meme/video game reference tone. On occasion, certain long time in-jokes are used such as The Baz, but plenty of indie games have their own style of humor not copying everyone else.

In the original it looked like she was basically wearing vinyl. It has the same kind of shine.

Which is pretty similar to what you're getting in the video. The main difference seems to be that the original design had her wearing what looks to be a fabric body stocking with vinyl over it, whereas the new outfit seems to be full vinyl based on the shine at the top of the neck.

Besides, weren't you literally JUST complaining that you were worried they would put her in jeans and a tee-shirt?

Even under many, it's not as high as you're making out to be.

He's always inconsistent with this shit and doesn't know what we wants, and assumes too much.

Funny thing, an interview Jill's OG voice actor from RE3 didn't care for the tube top look nor liked it. The developers lied to her, and she assumed Jill would be in her tactical gear. They didn't tell her what Jill would be wearing until all of her lines were recorded and done. I got time stamped.

The piece looks thick at the shoulders. At the legs, not sure. No, it's closer to leather than vinyl. The men on the team have the same shine in the pre-rendered opening (3:07). The shine certainly wasn't from head to toe.

CAPCOM would put her in the standard jeans (or pants) and tank top. Players, however, are tasteless coomers.

Tactical pants more than likely and actual military gear. So what? Quit being baby about a game you were never interested in getting remade in the first place. I've seen plenty of games, anime, movies, and TV where chicks pull of the military gear/police-swat look without going overboard on being overtly sexual, and are still great characters in their own right. Riza Hawkeye, Jill Valentine, Linn Kurosawa, Major Kusanagi (depending on the version), Gally/Alita/Yoko, Shina The Lepoard, Eri and Fio, Leona, Kiyone, etc.
Players, however, are coomers.
Whatever the fuck that means./sarcasm

The fact you are use that unironically and assume so much/speak of all players show how out of touch your old ass is.

No, looks like leather.
It really doesn't, it looks like plastic.

Real leather clothing doesn't have that much of a shine, it's a lot more matte. Leather is smoother and shinier than cloth but it's not actually smooth, the grain prevents it from shining the way it does in that cutscene. Leather shoes and boots do get that shiny, but they are shiny because of oil and polish that wouldn't be used on something like a jacket or vest.

It looks like vinyl.

The men on the team have the same shine in the pre-rendered opening (3:07).
And? Their cloths look just as plasticy. None of them look like they're wearing leather.
