Kinda like what happened on Baldur's Gate 3 launch, there are so many butthurt people regarding Silksong launch. Particularly on prices:

And on release window:

On the other side, the game is so good, even Pirates are urging people to support the devs with full purchase:

Most of these developers and publishers were given a fair chance like anyone else in the market. Not to sound cold, but guess what people: welcome to the entertainment industry. The gaming industry is no exception especially! In this economy, most people looking for the cheaper value, but one that gives the best kind of replay value and actual content without being screwed over and gaslighted.

I'm not interested in the game but I am happy for its success. We shouldn't be hating these people for doing their jobs. You all still have a chance. I gonna let the heat die down, or just release it and let things go the way they're supposed to go.

As for those in the youtube criticism and gaming journalism scene, none of y'all have the right to complain to her be mad. You all can talk about it any other gene at any time, would choose not to follow the algorithm or get clickbait. Cover the game for a week and a 1/2 at best and then start mentioning other games that are coming out around the same time. So people have options in case they're not interested or want something different. Problem solved. I don't care if any of you all are contractors, independent, or work for corporation. Be better at your actual job and stop whining about it. Nor be part of the problem.

"Why can't a studio just release a great game for cheap?"
Silksong: (is a great game for cheap)
"OH GOD WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!"

TBH, I don't think even Spielberg would've been able to make a great movie. Because let's be real, the current COD playerbase gives zero fucks about campaign and story, and would've called out on how "it's not like the games". And considering how the campaigns has been inconsistent in terms of how good they are, I am not sure what direction Spielberg would've taken to make the movie amazing.

Still, it would've been better than anything Activision comes up with

They could've patented the concept of "summoning a character FROM A PORTABLE CONTAINER and letting it fight another". But no, they want to patent the summoning mechanic.

I mean Palworld's copyright issue aside, there are plenty of game genres besides RPGs where summoning a character is part of their mechanics; I.E. Souls series summoning of NPCs or players, Yugioh virtual games where they are literally summoning monsters, or even COD killstreak perks that lets you summon dogs, drones, etc.

Really hope they remain within a single genre. Because my god, this sounds terrible

And even within RPGs, Megami Tensei literally predates Pokemon on this.

What about summoner's in Final Fantasy games? Yuna in FFX summons a beast and the whole party fucks off while the beast fights. Does that count? Because summoners in RPG's have been around long before Pokemon.
You aren't wrong, but Megaten was what came to my mind first, and I think they were doing it before Summoner was a class in any FF games (should be 3 was the first one IIRC?)

@Worgen new game by the Freedom Planet folks announced, in case you were unaware. Also, demo available.
I saw this on steam but I didn't realize it was by Galaxytrail... Now that you mention it I can see it in some of the art and the gameplay. Hmm... temping. Is it one of those vtuber games?

Yes, but that shouldn't be held against it. I've played several 'vtuber games' where not knowing anything about VTubers didn't make the game not fun, and even got me into the scene a little bit. Holocure's free and it's got some interesting spins on the Vampire Survivors/'bullet heaven' formula, you could check that out first if you aren't sure. (Different developer and totally different gameplay, but IMO it's proof that 'vtuber games' aren't automatically bad.)

Hmm, ok, I'll throw it on the list. I do love the Freedom Planet games, but I am still working on Silksong.

Some players are reporting that BL4 is performing horribly, especially on PC, and some on consoles.

Good ol' Randy, in his infinite wisdom, decides to blame and gaslight the the playerbase (he deleted this tweet, go figure)

(Attaching this tweet in image in case he deletes this one as well)
