After finishing Chronos: New Dawn am surprised to say the narrative took unexpected turns that were more emotionally effective than anticipated, with moral choices that even felt legitimately difficult to weigh up their outcomes. For a horror narrative especially, this ended up not only a pleasant surprise from every angle, but also kinda lingers in thoughts afterwards, psychologically haunting. Seems there is a secret ending to get from new game + so, alright fiiiine, such is our calling.
The whole "PlayStation 5 has no games nor exclusives" nonsense was a "meme" I got sick of the year it happened. Some people are still riding on this, even after the disaster that's going on with Microsoft and Xbox. I'm not defending any of Sony's many foolish mistakes, but at least they're trying, and they're starting to remember why people come to PlayStation. The PS5 still has more games than the Xbox, exclusive to its platform. Yes, a good amount of these games either got PC ports later or have PS4 versions, but that's not a bad thing. That just means more people get to experience these games, and that's all that matters to me. besides, we've already seen the phase out for most 1st party titles coming to PS5 don't have a last generation version. So congratulations you got your wish. You better not cry about that, or how you "don't have your money's worth".
We got Lost Soul Aside and Yotei this year. Marvel Tokon and a few other first party titles comes out next year on the platform. Nintendo has more than plenty as always. What does Xbox got?

There is nothing wrong with that. I also got the console just to play certain PS4 games better, because I considered the PS4 PRO a waste of money.
I've played and/or completed about 8 PS5 games now. Pretty soon it's going to be 11 by the next month.

Except that Saudi Arabia has enough money not to need to do a leveraged buyout, which is the kinda buyout you do if you are probably going to gut the company you are purchasing.
Just to put some scale to this: The net worth of the Saudi Public Investment Fund is ~ $1 trillion, meaning the entirety of the $55 billion purchase price of EA is pretty much a drop in their bucket. They're not doing a leveraged buyout because they're short on cash.

With how much they have in it, doing a leveraged buyout is even more suspicious since it would just make people panic and make headlines. If they wanted to be sneaky and use the existing company to further their goals of rehabilitating their image then a normal buyout would have been better.
There's never "enough" money for some people. It's kinda the nature of the beast, otherwise they'd have stopped well before reaching a trillion dollars.
See, that's the thing with the graphics hitting the plateau, there's little reason to make most games ps5 exclusives if they're not going for FFXVI tier graphics and limit your potential audience when the ps4 had like over a hundred million units out there or something around that number and most of those people haven't bought a ps5 yet, so smaller studios made games for ps4 and ps5 both since they're not going for super crazy graphics anyways so might as well capitalize on the large existing install base. Also most games offer cross buy so even if you buy the ps4 game you get it for ps5 too in case you ever get one, so people have nothing to lose.
Hell, this had been happening since the ps3. Take persona 5 for example, that's a ps3 game originally, the ps4 version was a port, and then royal came out and that got ported to ps5 too, but really it's a ps3 game that was more or less functional on the by now ancient ps3 without losing 98% of what made playing the game a worthwhile experience. (the remaining 2% is due to faster loading times)

Not to mention, COVID fucked everything up and Sony especially did not want to miss out on most people who still owned a PS4/PS4 Pro, and could not afford a PS5.
Is exactly why Saudi Arabia and its government can fuck off. I stopped caring about EA years ago, and they have not much to offer at all. The Saudis buying makes them even more worthless.
I still have some hope in my heart for another, good dragon age that harkens back to origins. Forever the optimist. Other than that and I guess Diablo I don’t really care about EA either (that Berserk homage they did for d4 was great though) but that’s the thing with having no expectations, things can only go up from there.
That is Activision-Blizzard's. A reminder: Microsoft bought them out, so thus it's theirs now. You're never getting that next game for a long time, or it's going to be horribly compromised if it ever comes out.

Oh right I forgot. And no I’m real busy with other stuff. Been getting back into reading too, Wind and Truth (stormlight archive book 5) has gripped me and refuses to release, also the new digimon rpg is spectacular too, should post about that some come to think about it.
I heard lost soul had technical issues so decided to wait a bit until they patch em out.
They've been done that already. They put out five total. The game was already running good, but it was mainly some glitches they had to iron out. You do whatever on your time and whenever it works for you. I'm busy with Yotei, and I gotta pick up Ninja Gaiden 4 and Double Dragon Revive in two weeks.
Reading.... I gotta get started on this urban fantasy book I bought a year ago.
You guys miss the point. If I were Saudi Arabia, I wouldn't want to produce fossil fuels alone, even if in the long run it will get replaced, as there's a high probability based on advancements in nuclear that it may. Even if it doesn't, you're basically putting all of your eggs in one basket. The Saudis, led by MBS, have both liberalized their country, opened it up for investment, and used their oil wealth to buy out revenue-generating assets of all types in including American companies, for both influence and revenue. Whereas some PE firms may view American game devs as too expensive given American salaries, and could just offshore it, or sell bits of it to make quick cash, given that many PE firms make more money than the S&P500 returns.

Its doubtful that they are buying someone like EA to make money, the money is helpful, but this isn't them preparing for the end of oil. This would much more likely be about them trying to rehabilitate their image by controlling media. Even with the better current leader, he's still known as 'bonesaw' for a reason. But, while this would be the expected reason for them to buy someone like EA, what makes it weird is that its a leveraged buyout, which are notorious for being used to just gut the companies your buying.
I saw this brought up as a complaint for Little Nightmares 3, so it made me want to comment on it here. I've never understood the argument about game prices being too high that tie in the length of the game. In this case, it's complaining that 40 pounds (user is from the UK) for about 4 hours of gameplay is a ripoff.
And yet, 20 pounds for a 1 and a half hour Blu-Ray is considered acceptable? Don't get me wrong, game prices are going a bit too high. Heck, in this case, I'd argue Little Nightmares III might indeed be too pricy when you consider the first two games were respectively 20 and 25 pounds at launch. But that's not the same as saying that there should be some limit on how expensive a game is based purely on length.
