If the vast majority of people using it are white and the people asking you to not use it are black, which is the situation we're talking about here, no it wouldn't be.
How do you know? Have you surveyed the animemes subreddit or any other group of anime fans to see what their gender identities are? Do you know whether or not they've been given honorary T-word passes, just like a white hip-hop fan might be given an honorary N-word pass? I've given a few of the latter out myself, and we'd all laugh at you if you barged in to our space and told us to stop.
Trans people, both inside and outside the anime community, are asking you to not use a slur that is regularly used to invalidate their identity.
You mean those three bloggers you linked above? Besides that, no they aren't.
Again, we (trans people) live under a near-constant threat of violence.
You're confusing who is actually making the threats of violence.
Just like black people aren't being threatened by people from the hip-hop community, they're being threatened by actual racists, trans people are not being threatened by weebs.
You're saying that violence "outside the club" justifies banning the word "inside the club".
You want to ban the N-word inside of hip-hop groups because actual racists use the N-word outside of these groups.
And that's ridiculous. You have no argument here.
Except trans people who don't want to deal with slurs while engaging in their preferred hobby
Like all the black people who dislike the use of the N-word in hip-hop. What solution do you propose for those people? That hip-hop should be changed? That they should leave the community?
Except for your three nobody bloggers, right.
This is not a hypothetical to us. This is our lives,
lives too often cut short because of violence that is deemed acceptable or not as serious because of who we are. Trap is used as a slur against us and no amount of trying to weasel out of that is going to change that. We just want to be able to go through a day without dealing with transphobic bullshit and engage in our preferred hobbies without being pelted with slurs even if they're not explicitly directed at us in that moment (and I say in the moment because it doesn't take long to be a target if you're out as trans, believe me).

See how silly that sounds?
