Probably MSNBCWho was that poll by? Crazy Jack the local weirdo with his magic pen, based on the voices he was hearing?
To quote my late Aunt? What on earth...?
Heavens - what century are you in? Pollsters don't wander round the streets with a clipboard. There are phones, and the internet. Professional polling companies have complex analytical techniques where they assess the validity of their samples against state demographics and previous elections, and so on.
Polls are so often wrong because they work on the assumption of honestly. It's a downfall of a number of "public response survey" too where people with certain inclinations find out about them and share them round like minded people to push the numbers up unless it's literally special invite only stuff. Professional Polling companies can and sometimes do outsource to others who may not be as good.If some-one phones up asking who I was voting for I'd just say I was voting for the first name they said on the phone. Didn't matter if I was planning to vote for them or not I just couldn't be bothered with dealing with them on the phone for longer than I had too.
Lets just say the number of polls that have been released that saw different results as of late it puts into doubt most of them.
Even without people like my Aunt you then have cases where if you have a CNN own poll and some-one comes up to you as a hypothetical Trump supporter and says "CNN here asking about your voting intentions" do you think moderate Trump supporters / people leaning Trump slightly will go "Yeh I'm voting for Trump" given CNN has previously implied / threatened to release the names of people for making Pro Trump memes online or saying things deemed to have been created by Russians. Who was the news agency that turned up outside that old woman's house in the USA to confront her with claims of spreading Russian propaganda before?
No they'll claim to be undecided or maybe even pick Biden cause they don't want CNN naming and interviewing them on TV or whatever or having those details on record.
AgainIf he'd then done something to support that statement, maybe, but he very specifically doesn't -- and it would have been so easy to do.
What he's actually done is go on TV and say 'Proud Boys [white supremacists] stand back and standby'. Standby! Apparently that means 'readiness for duty or immediate deployment.' Rather than condemn the white supremacist militia as prompted, he told them to prepare for deployment!
The Proud Boys (This picture is from the ADL no less)
Guess they must just be a load of self hating People of Colour or something?
Again see above. It's like you didn't read the bit where I pointed out how bad the state polls are for Trump, too.
