Blizzard sues Starcraft II cheat hackers

That is just stupid, if they want to fix the game fix it so the cheats can't be used but to sue is just another example of publishers trying to control gamers.

Tomadachi Life Conspiracy: Because Nintendo Just can't catch a break these days

From an ethical standpoint its nice to see but from a gaming viewpoint, after looking at the sort of game changes Blizzard (for example but most game publishers) make to there games constantly, I find this amazing, that they are unable to produce a patch which would fix this

And people wonder why we have the term "gamer entitlement"?

I wish there was a like button for posts like this because this is exactly the feeling I get from a lot of publishers, journalists, fans and even some devs. One game which I supported through kickstarter and which the devs have said will retail for $40 they then (after kickstarter finished)...

Tomadachi Life Conspiracy: Because Nintendo Just can't catch a break these days

Sorry but compared to some of the types of patches and upgrades that companies put out to fix or improve games, removing a gender check is simple and why shouldn't they be pissed off about being ignored again. Why is it LGBQT people are supposed to sit down and shut up while Homophobes get away...

And people wonder why we have the term "gamer entitlement"?

Lets say your right, lets say it IS "entitled" What do business experts say about "gamer entitlement"? And forbs? I work in the retail sector, health sector and training sector. When I got my FIRST job the first thing we did as part of our induction was to watch a video by the...

Poll: Are You Going To Play Through The Dragon Age Series For Inquisition?

I am a little sad that they have gone down this path, I was hoping to directly import my save files rather than sit there trying to get the world into the same shape it was. The image I have of dragons keep is reducing all the experience I had down to something like the graphics configuration...

And people wonder why we have the term "gamer entitlement"?

Games are products, the same as any other. They exist to serve PEOPLE not the other way around and as generals3 said why do you think that its a business practice which should be above reproach to expect people to pay up for a product (ANY product) BEFORE you get it and before you even SEE it...

Can/should digital download distributers ensure their games work (patch as required)?

Its the legal responsibility of a retailer in every country EXCEPT the US (where companies rule people rather than the other way around) to ensure that the products they are selling are fit for purpose, work as advertised and aren't broken. Does this mean that they have to individuality test...

Can/should digital download distributers ensure their games work (patch as required)?

Yep absolutely right they are MINIMUM requirements so I glance at them to make sure my system is ABOVE that, that my RAM is higher than that, that I have a newer video card etc. The operating system needs to be explicitly stated, THIS WILL NOT WORK ON WINDOWS 7, otherwise people rightly will...

Can/should digital download distributers ensure their games work (patch as required)?

If the games are all mixed in together then YES it needs to be explicitly said clearly that this game will not work on the current systems, no if buts or maybes. Not buried in the system requirements, written right up front where it cant be missed and not written in such a way that its confusing...

Can/should digital download distributers ensure their games work (patch as required)?

Can/should digital download distributers ensure their games work (patch as required)?

There is a huge difference between selling a game cartridge marked as N64 and selling a game on steam and it not working. If an uneducated person walks into Gametraders and says "will this cartridge work in my PS3 and they say yes then they would be in breach of the Australian Consumer Laws as...

Can/should digital download distributers ensure their games work (patch as required)?

they are a retailer and just like all retailers they have a requirement to ensure that the product is fit for purpose, if its not then its a breach of most consumer laws to sell it
