I know that System Shock 2 is acclaimed to be one of the greatest games of all time, and I don't disagree. For all its glory and muster, I wondered how many people around The Escapist have had the opportunity to play the original.
Yes, the entire Thief series is quite an awesome one. Speaking of old games, I wonder if Yahtzee will ever review the original System Shock. That'd be a classic right there.
You say that no computer is large enough to facilitate so much information from around the world. I agree. That's why cluster, or cloud, computing is so powerful. It's not one computer at work... it's thousands, hundreds of thousands, and potentially much more.

That's true. The whole project would bottleneck at the internet speeds. But look back at the past ten years... ten years ago, a dial-up modem was nearly commonplace. Now, most people in America have a cable modem or DSL that is exponentially faster. Where will we be ten years from now?

Depending on the situation, strongly encouraging them to continue their behavior will make them stop. I don't know what age-range you're talking here, but if you encourage a bully to continue with juvenile behavior, it'll lose it's appeal for them; they won't continue to do it. That works...
