Portal's turret AI was the most realistic example of stationary, talking security devices I've ever witnessed in a game.

This was a well known fact from before the pilot was leaked on the interwebs. And funny enough; they are only making six seasons afterall.

It really does depend on the game... semi-realistic games do well with class based systems. COD 4 and 5 take this to a whole new- almost RPG-ish level. But you can't begrudge quake style fast paced shooters either. Flyin around in low grav UT is still some of the best shooter memories I have.

Gears of War 1 and 2 I am dumb, I just noticed the "older" part. Well... umm... Gear of War 1 is kinda old now.... Or you could download Geometry Wars... people seem to enjoy that.

The two reviews that come to mind are IGN's 10 out of 10 GTAIV review, and PC Gamer's 91% review of Dungeon Siege (This was back when I actually trusted PC Gamer's reviews.) Oh... and every glowing review of Resident Evil 4. God that game was over rated.

All of the above? What can I say... games are fun. A well done RPG will draw you in like nothing else, though.

Dragon's Lair was cool.... nearly 30 years ago now..... If button mashing is part of the gameplay, then fine, when it is "tap buttons during this cutscene" then no. It is stupid.
