Assassin's Creed, Getting Back Into It?

I only got around to playing Black Flag as a result of it being free through the 'Games With Gold' promotion, having missed out on Assassin's Creed III. For the most part, I really enjoyed the game. It had its ups and downs: free-running still feels clunky at times, and the stealth element plays...

The best stuff you read, played, and watched in 2014

I have a copy of Wolf Hall sitting in my room, having bought it on a whim maybe 18 months ago. Is it a decent read? I bought it and for whatever reason never really got around to it, although I remember noticing it had won a handful of accolades. Alas, I'm struggling to think of what I read...

Poll: What browser do you use?

Do you mean the older versions of Opera, with the ton of features included (e.g. Opera Notes, etc.) or the newer version which shares a lot with Google Chrome? I could never get along with the old versions of Opera - it just didn't feel quite right though I can respect the sheer amount of power...

Your "Coolest pistol" in any game or movie!

How about the Auto-9 from RoboCop? It's iconic, even if it isn't my favorite pistol in a game or film. That accolade goes to the AMT Hardballer from the Hitman franchise. It might lack the same on-screen presence, but if you're a fan of the franchise, Blood Money shows off some of the nice...

Where do we draw the line between music and noise?

There's also Gulaagh, possibly the same band under a different name. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuO9xtNsRs0 I'm inclined to agree with everyone else, that music is a subjective thing and some people get their kicks from very different genres. I'll listen to almost anything, and I can...

    The steam summer sale.

This is definitely a good buy. You can't appreciate how much polish it adds to the game until you've played with and without it. The DLC was £4.99 on Gamersgate before, so it might hit a similar price-point on the Steam sale. It probably will, actually.

    DELETED

I had it as well. It was only alright, I thought. But it is definitely a forgotten title from this generation of consoles. Import Tuner Challenge springs to mind as well. I don't know anyone else who owns it, but it has a surprisingly in-depth customization system for cars. Plus...

Should I buy the Mount & Blade Collection?

Yes. Depending on whether you play it Vanilla or not, you can find it quite unforgiving. The first few hours can be gruelling because you won't be too familiar with it, and your peasant army will be getting annihilated by plenty of bandits until you're familiar with it. Once you're familiar...

Poll: Do you read game manuals?

I do, sometimes. It's rare though, and the game does need to have an actual manual for me to read. The little inserts of paper that come with most franchises (I'm thinking the Call of Duty manuals, which are virtually the same each year), don't get my attention. Rockstar is one company I can...

Citizen Kane No longer the best movie of all time

I haven't seen Citizen Kane or Vertigo yet (I'll have to), but the two of them make more sense to me than the IMDb list, which puts The Shawshank Redemption at the top. I'd have difficulty finding a film I liked more than V for Vendetta but if both films are good they could dethrone it in my eyes.

What is your impression of the game you are playing right now?

I'm playing Skyrim at the moment, and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's nice to have a good single-player game to play for a huge expanse of time instead of another multiplayer experience that doesn't have the same appeal. At the moment I'm going around doing quests in Skyrim just to get them out of...

Poll: Skyrim- Did you kill Paarthurnax?

Well, I guess it's time for me to work up my Crafting a little bit more since I never craft much. I basically use Mehrunes' Razor as my mainstay of the moment. It's cool looking and while it doesn't do much damage I'm trying to increase my sneaking ability so it's nice to have a sweet looking...

Poll: Skyrim- Did you kill Paarthurnax?

Is Paarthurnax actually weak? I just wander round in the game at the moment having a jolly time doing minor quests, and I'm curious if he's actually weak. By this point I already knew killing Paarthurnax was an option though since I'd seen it on the internet (though if I hadn't I imagine this...

What is your Favorite Location In Skyrim?

As is typical of my luck, I didn't buy it before going off to Cidhna Mine. Now, I check the UESP wiki non-stop for information in case I might glitch something else otherwise.

What is your Favorite Location In Skyrim?

If you're looking to buy it, you can't speak to Raerek with anything less than the money needed to buy it (8,000 Gold), and you need to buy it right there and then. You also cannot have completed "No One Escapes from Cidhna Mine". With that, I've made sure to do both and render the house...
