Unless there are games a really want, I'm not gonna be getting this. So far nothing good has been announced...
This. For 150 bucks I'm set for the year gamewise... Since I'm not particularly rich I don't feel like "almost-literally" burning money is a sensible idea, so I'll pass.AndyFromMonday said:So I can pay $150 for a machine full of shovelware or buy quite a lot of games on Steam. Steam it is then.
£200?!?!?! what, thats either someone lying to you or microsoft don't understand exchange rates. The Cheezy One said:what about the english price? has that been confirmed at £200?
i wasnt planning on getting this anyway, but it might have turned out alright, if it wasnt so expensive

On Amazon it looks like it won't be shipped with any game. Instead kinectimals and other games are tagged for full price (59.90$) (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_10?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=kinectimals&x=0&y=0&sprefix=kinectimal [http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_10?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=kinectimals&x=0&y=0&sprefix=kinectimal])WanderFreak said:...

That cost me significantly less than the probably... let's say $250 would probably be a safe estimate, if the hardware alone is to cost $150. Unless it comes bundled with a bunch of games (and really, when have bundled games ever been worthwhile beyond a few minutes of sympathetic pity play) you'll have to get a couple to make the purchase worthwhile.
This is the most expensive "awkward wave across room" simulator ever.

Either way, far to expensive for people to buy. I don't want it for that price and I already have a 360, I'm going to laugh my head off if I know anyone who buys a 360 just for Kinect, poor waste of money.

I thought normally the price would be lower, not higher for Britain. $150 now would be something like £100 to £125 pounds, thanks to the recession. But if it's been increased, then it's a con, which will prompt anyone with common sense to import. The Cheezy One said:what about the english price? has that been confirmed at £200?

You said it brother. No chance I'll be buying one. If it's $150 US, chances are Australians will have to shell out roughly $250-300 AUD.HK_01 said:Quite expensive for a gimmick.
That would suck, I mean seriously who the fuck would buy that at £200... thats my entire reason for thinking thats wrong, but for who retarded it sounds. But to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me.The Cheezy One said:snip
Quoted for truth.... I totally agree..Kapol said:The short answer to the question if it will be worth $150, no. The long answer: NO, because it's mainly a gimmick that the majority of games won't even use and is as bad of an idea as the Playstation Move or the Wii... well, the Wii could have been decent if it actually had decent games, but my point still stands.
Even though the US dollar is only a few center better off than the Aussie dollar I agree.Adzma said:You said it brother. No chance I'll be buying one. If it's $150 US, chances are Australians will have to shell out roughly $250-300 AUD.HK_01 said:Quite expensive for a gimmick.
Yeah... I wonder also, cause Kinect to me seems like the EXACT same thing as EyeToy.. Only with better resolution on the camera..tomtom94 said:Is it really $130 better than an EyeToy camera?
My thoughts too. Of course, I don't have $150... Or a 360. But rest assured, if I did, I would be ignoring the Kinect with all my might.AndyFromMonday said:So I can pay $150 for a machine full of shovelware or buy quite a lot of games on Steam. Steam it is then.
