$150 Price Tag for Kinect Confirmed

$150 USD isn't that bad, to be honest. I mean, basically you're getting (if you already own a 360) a better-looking, controllerless Wii with more options for creative play beyond "SWING THE FUCKING STICK AS FAST AS YOU FUCKING CAN" for sports games etcetera.

the bundle is the 2 move controlers ($88) plus a game ($60) plus a move camera ($40) thats all in the bundle

Wow. Um, on behalf of Sony, allow me to thank Microsoft for this clear indication of support of the Move. It's good to know that even in this modern cut-throat environment, sometimes companies are willing to take it on the chin to give another company a boost.

No, seriously, what the hell are they thinking? $50 less and you get the complete Move package. $50 more and you get a freaking Wii.

I can't figure out the strategy here. Established market share goes to Nintendo, new entry price point goes to Sony, overall bundle price point goes to the Wii... do they have THAT much faith in the quality and unique nature of their games that this makes any sense whatsoever?

Kinect: the joke that only Microsoft could take seriously. Consider that the only shown games are rip- offs of Wii games that aren't worth ripping off. The whole "play movies" thing is also useless as it just adds useless bullshit. There is nothing it can do that a controller can't do better.

Since it has no software at all I'll go with forty dollars U.S. If it comes with the expected worthless shovel-ware? Then still just forty. I don't care if that's less than a controller as it's WORTH LESS!

While I won't get a kinect, here's a different way to think about it.

If you have four friends and you all want to play a game at once,
-with move you need four controllers so that is 4x$50=$200
-with kinect you only need one box at $150.

From this point of view it doesn't seem to bad of a price.
