Well, looks like Microsoft just took a big pile of money, burned it, and called it Kinect. For $150, I'll just get two decent video games and play them with my trusty ol' controller. And I'll still have enough money left over to get a cheeseburger or two.

i wasnt planning on getting this anyway, but it might have turned out alright, if it wasnt so expensive
£200?!?!?! what, thats either someone lying to you or microsoft don't understand exchange rates.

Either way, far to expensive for people to buy. I don't want it for that price and I already have a 360, I'm going to laugh my head off if I know anyone who buys a 360 just for Kinect, poor waste of money.

I thought normally the price would be lower, not higher for Britain. $150 now would be something like £100 to £125 pounds, thanks to the recession. But if it's been increased, then it's a con, which will prompt anyone with common sense to import.

.... Who was your maths teacher? $149 = £100 roughly. The price would in all probability be £99 here.

then apologise please
I will apologize when it's confirmed. But do you really believe they will release a add on at the same price as the console it is for?

Would seem to me that the people they're marketing this for probably already have a Wii are would be decidedly less interested in the purchase of such an expensive toy.

Ouch...

Well, if we're comparing it to the competition, I guess Move isn't any better... it just comes in bits, and will cost about the same amount if you want the eye cam, controller and 'secondary' controller...

Nevertheless though, that is quite the price tag.

It will cost more in Brtitian, as the company adds an import charge then then distribution charge while adding a markup on the way.
Take windows for example, it costs more here because they charge for localization which is basically the language and keyboard layout, and we speak the same dam language.

For 150 dollars they better ship it with a game that uses it, which they dont.

So far this adds nothing to my gaming experience and is thus worthless for me. I will go a step further and consider the Kinect as the most pointless/expensive inovation in gaming for this decade so far.
Its a contemporary power glove

That is very expensive. Seems like the Move is going to be the cheaper one of the two, even with the other gadgets (the Playstation Eye and that nunchuck-like thing). That'll definitely win them some sales.

Wow. I thought the rumours couldn't be true. How on earth is Microsoft planning to get a profit on the Kinect with that price?

Or am I missing something?

I'm not sure if you want me to aplogise, but even if you do, I don't see why. I'm just pointing out, that $150 would equal £100 to £125, NOT £200, as if we convert £200 to US dollars, it would be around $300. So Microsoft are asking British people to pay double price for a Wii knock-off with no controller. If thats Microsofts business plan, then it's a retarded one, more then likely, it's a little bit of rumor mongering to annoy British people.

Im not buying it at the price range. Rather just pick up the Black Wii for an extra $50 :p
This.

My Wii sits collecting dust, waiting for parties. I love it for that use, but only have so many get togethers with people that want to play the thing.

The rest of the time, I just want to play things like Halo or Saints Row 2 on a perfectly normal controller.

I can only imagine that will mean around £100 here in the UK...well thats not gonna entice the casual gamer that much, thats for sure...and as for hardcore...well, nothing there really to entice us with!
