Thing is it's true. The Darwin awards are just a natural extention of the basic concept of schadenfreude. A little more morbid perhaps, but still very human. Anyone who says they've never laughed at another person's suffering (even minor) isn'tJumplion said:I was just about to agree with him, though that music made me giggle away from that.Amnestic said:DestroytheTyrant said:You guys are sick for finding this stuff funny ...
Good show, good show.
Well then get your facts right they'd be going to Hel, not Ragnorak, Ragnorak is the name of the battle at the end of the world. The DSM said:Thank you for removing your self from the gene pool.
Theres a cookie waiting for you in Ragnorak.
Yes I do belive in Norse mythology, its as valid as every other religion.
I'll let you know as soon as I start to care. Seriously, don't you deserve to die if you're that fucking stupid, especially when you have several minutes to think your plan over.DestroytheTyrant said:You guys are sick for finding this stuff funny ...
Yes those people were fucking morons, yes they had their fate coming, my comment was to the people who actually thought it was funny.I just find it morbid when someone finds death funny , thats all.archvile93 said:I'll let you know as soon as I start to care. You know what , I absolutely agree, but laughing at someones death is alot different than laughing at someones "minor" sufferings. I just think that laughing at someones own death ( even if it was brought on to themselves) is taking it way too far. Maybe if you got some common sense you would realize this , but for now, you are worth no more to me than the two dudes that blew themselves up.Amnestic said:Thing is it's true. Good show, good show.Britishhuman. Either that or they're a liar.
Actually I'm worth quite a bit more. Legally, financially, emotionally, intellectually - I'm worth more. Primarily because they're dead and I am not.DestroytheTyrant said:You know what , I absolutely agree, but laughing at someones death is alot different than laughing at someones "minor" sufferings. One less anyway...Distorted Stu said:Making society better one idiot at a time.
In many cases it isn't published because it is funny, but more because there is a certain simple entertainment value, as morbid as it might be. Most of these people are given many chances to avoid their fate, but through their own choices still commit the deed that sends them to the hereafter. Now if it ever involved someone else being put at risk, someone who would never have put themself into that situation but ended up yanked into it by the idiocy of the original person, that would be too much for me. I have yet to see the Darwin Awards feature a situation like that, though.DestroytheTyrant said:You guys are sick for finding this stuff funny ...
