Ooh. That's a good one, too. Unfortunately I don't think it's quite a contender against the absolute bevy of amazing titles, across nearly every genre, that dropped in '98. Hell, ONE DAY (Nov 30th) saw the release of four utterly phenomenal titles that shaped the landscape of gaming for decades to come.

2007 was indeed one of the greatest year ever. STALKER and Crysis 1 alone make that year Golden.

I didn't check out the Wikipedia list but the titles you mentioned, the only world that comes to mind is a resounding "meh".
