That still did jack shit. Reports are still coming that there's a whole load of hackers still rampant(Check the IW forums).

Yep, VAC and no kick feature was totally the way to go with this game.

I don't get Cheating... truly I don't, not on a game like COD... were's the gain, ho your top on the leader board go you, you have no skill you just hacked it. Playing games online is a test of skill.
or just for fun...people seem to forget that with games nowadays

not that that makes hacking a resonable thing...cause that aint for fun
Yes for fun too, I find testing my skill to be fun, I can't find any thing fun in an auto aim hack... your essentially just sitting there and pulling a trigger, no aiming or any thing, just pulling the trigger. Were's the fun.

I wonder how many of those were actual hackers and not people who bought their cd key online, which is apparently illegal according to activision.

And, how much, if any, is true of this entire article. Insanity ward has a habit of being lying assholes so i have my doubts here.

MW francise is a victim of its own success. Cod4 was so good, no one really bothered with cod5. Actvisions knee jerk reaction/answer is to make a poorer game. That away people will quit playing sooner, and buy the newer product every year.

Cheaters getting banned is never a bad thing.

No matter how few, knowing they got on to see a nice ban message brings a vindictive smile to my face.

Pretty much. Same deal with boosters and hackers on top of the XBL leaderboards. What exactly is the point of that? Cool, you're 10th prestige 3 days after the game came out. Now everyone knows you're a complete asshat who cheated his way to the top! Bravo! I honestly hope everyone on top of the leaderboards gets banned, because every single one of them either boosted or hacked their way there. Yes, we all believe you have a 97.5 Kill/Death ratio and 150,000 kills in a week. That's totally not impossible.

Well that is nice but not needed as with dedicated servers they would banned quicker and easier in the first place and all such over the top aren't we amazing action wouldn't be needed.

You know what'd be good? If they weren't just banning, but were actively stopping the hacks that were already being used.

There's an idea.
Who's to say they aren't?
Why not say so, if they are?
Why would they/why should they have to say that? I mean, it's fairly obvious that they'd try to cut off the problem at its root (the hacks) instead of just re-banning those that use them over and over again.
To perhaps reassure the few PC Gamers who did buy it for that platform that they didn't make the wrong decision? One need only look at this thread to see that most people see 2,500 as a great big fuck all. Hearing a "And we're working on fixing the issues permanently." couldn't exactly be bad press.

While it's obvious to you and me, that they haven't said anything about it means that whether it's obvious to them as well is still up in the air in the realm of Maybe's and Perhap's.
VAC works on the premise of not knowing. It makes it more difficult to see whether your program is evading detection or not when you cannot actively test it. VAC bans are time delayed, sometimes as long as week or so after detection. I'm sure they patch holes when they find them, but they're much more interested in monitoring the game's memory allocation for interference.

Oh and you probably don't notice any cheaters in TF2 because you can still suck in that game even with an aim bot and radar. Sniper shots need some level of charge before they're instant kill, and I don't see the heavy or pyro being much use with auto-aim or even trigger. Sure, external programs may give them an unfair advantage, but you generally cannot rambo any standard TF2 game type no matter how good you are.

But then the hackers wouldn't be forced to buy another copy thus artificially inflating their already artificially inflated sales?

Just seems a little much just to be a prick. Surely these people have better things to do with there lives then cheat on a online game, it's not as if it's a victimless crime and unless you get off on having people think your a utter dick head there no real reward in it.
I heard a while back there were aimbotters on BF:Heroes. They paid for their cheats to play a free game. Given the fact a decent aimbot program can cost between £30 and £60 (I don't know from personal experience, just info gained from forums etc.) that means the cheaters paid maybe £45 to play A FREE GAME!

Just take a second to think about that and you'll realise the level of intelligence we're talking about here.

Bout time.

But I will say I see less hackers in MW2 then CSS

So far I've only encountered some 12-18 suspicious players and some 6-7 definitive hackers. They are shameless about it too, clearly wallin when you watch the killcam.

It's amazing how with no UAV they can track someone through a wall exactly when the target has ninja pro.

Just play MW2 like everyone else! It's not that hard a game to get a few kills, have fun and then insta-spawn straight back into the thick of it for more fun.

Imagine how boooooooooooooooooring sports would be if there were hacks.

Touchdown.
kick off
touchdown
kick off
touchdown
kick off
touchdown

he shoots he scores
he shoots he scores
he shoots he scores
he shoots he scores
he shoots he scores

hole in one
hole in one
hole in one
hole in one
hole in one

ten pin bowling strike!
ten pin bowling strike!
ten pin bowling strike!

etc

Just play the damn game! If I can play it and do fairly well and enjoy myself you surely could, because I suck at FPS MP
