Not really - imagine the flood of subhuman scum being poured away from 4chan and onto the rest of us. Better to keep them all in one bucket and out of the way.MaxTheReaper said:I'm not sure.bodyklok said:Oh... Shit...
What would happen if they actually took 4Chan down?
I want to say "The internet would be a better place," but something worse would most likely pop up eventually.

But your words say you're awfully naive.
I'd say that most of the posters above and below you don't believe either.
I DON'T CARE EITHER B/C I DOESN'T AFRAID OF ANY MEME!
Ok... You know in starwars, where the guy says 'you'll never find a greater hive of scum'? Thats 4chan, with everyone being anonymous, so they can be as shitty as they like without reprisal. Oh, and hardcore porn, child porn, more disgusting images, etc.Impuls said:Ok, noob question incoming but...
What the heck is 4chan or /b/?
I read alot about both of them but never there is any explenation about what or who they are. Any of your dear fellows that can explain it to me?
To be honest... I don't agree. Every war in history, including the gurellia ones, have ultimately boiled down to money and supply lines. Supply lines aren't really applicable in this case, so we're left with money. There is simply too much money involved for the IFPI to back away, and too much for 4chan to fight against in the courts. In the same way people reckoned pirate bay was untouchable, the same with 4chan.Nomadic said:As much as I hate to admit it, 4chan is pretty untouchable. They've got some of the biggest nerds in the world over there. And on the internet, nerddom is power. For the ifpi to take down 4chan would be like a lion trying to wrestle a great white shark. It may be fearsome on land, but try beating the shark in its own element and it's going down. That said, they won't get them taken down either. Nothing will come of it.
Also, they're only causing periodic and half-assed harm as it is now. Imagine giving them something to unite about, heh. Don't wake them up.
Sadly, I believe 4chan will be shutdown - why sadly, you may ask?bad rider said:And lo I am not the other posters for as it was written in a CERFNET bathroom almost twenty years ago.Ignignoct said:Yup.bad rider said:Obviously someone dosen't believe in the prophecy.Ignignoct said:Your post count says you've been here a while.bad rider said:Finally some good coming out of pirate bays closure. "And Lo, behold, for the Lord is powerful and great. Though many will in tern be corrupted by the ways of the internet the few shall perservere. Though this day may not be forthcoming when those who have sucumbed will behold the true extent of their shortcommings and will be purged from said internet. Then for those few faithful, they will inherit the internet and then there will be muffins, of blueberry chocolate and flavours unbeknownst to man."

Let us imagine each /b/tard as a drop of water.
Together, they make a flood. They can perform feats like raids and such.
Alone, they are a single raindrop, incapable of doing more than being moderately annoying.

...sneakly! I like! Anyway, I think its possible that 4chan members made break into splitter groups if they see this coming - each with enough abilities to do harm.... but on the bright side, I doubt if such groups could last long - 4chan's tolerate each other only because they can remain anonymous, heh.MaxTheReaper said:color=white:If anyone points out a flaw in this argument I have no counterpoint. *crosses fingers*
Didn't they DDoS their own site when boxxy was plaguing it?D_987 said:Why are we meant to care again..?
I mean, didn't they just crowd onto a site until the server crashed...thats nothing special, now if they hacked their website - that would be news worthy.
And all the bigots who had lived there spread to one to each household.Jeronus said:Imagine your city dump being blown up. The place is gone but the stench still manages to find its way to your nose.MaxTheReaper said:I'm not sure.bodyklok said:Oh... Shit...

The domain of 4chan can be taken down, sure thing. The people inhabiting it won't. Good luck to the ifpi locating them all, let alone charging them in court. It's not the domain name that's the threat, it's the lowlives who inhabit it.Doug said:To be honest... I don't agree.
