for the most part i hate anime because the main charecters always start whining about something or other at it just goes for like 7 episodes of him/her whining and then one charecter ussually say's something along the lines of "shut the hell up" then the main charecter suddenly becomes a super awesome ass kicker.

1. Rurouni Kenshin, started watching on Toonami, it became my favorite anime for its superb balance of drama and comedy. I can't believe that nobody mentioned this yet.

2. Code Geass, wonderful drama, and with a minimum of characters I don't like, hell, the only one I don't like is Suzaku.

3. Yu Yu Hakusho

4. Ninja Scroll, 'tis a movie, but I think it's better than a lot of stuff out there.

5. Like Sendo, I think that Princess Mononoke is pretty damned good.

There are only two animes that I have truly loved. They are the only two animes that truly made me want to watch the next episode right away until I had finished the series. And they are...

1. Elfen Lied
2. Death Note

Also, my favourite anime film and one of my favourite films is My Neighbour Totoro. Such a sweet film.
