The extra lit classes I now have to take because I switched schools and the GE requirements are different. Also, the two classes I will now have to take to fulfill my "International" and "Multicultural" requirements.
I had to take "Music Appreciation" to fulfill my "Arts and Communications" requirement and we spent the first quarter of the semester on Medieval/Renaissance music and it was dreadful. The only interesting thing about it is to see how much better musical instruments made things.Jeffrey Ross said:if you want an excuse to be bored, then take Medieval/Renaissance Music History. unless you like chanting, you're probably going to kill yourself after 2 classes.
I hate that kind of thing with a passion. I see it a lot.Dango said:I don't take it, but there's a really useless engineering class in my school. Kids actually take it to learn something about engineering, and they get a teacher who literally fails his own tests.
I have never once directly applied any portion of Calculus to any CS project. I have, however, made use of linear algebra and set theory. That being said, this is mostly because the sort of problems I have been asked to solve have not dealt with the very particular problems calculus exists to help resolve - that is, I've never need to find the precise area under a curve (an estimation was always sufficient) nor have I needed to find the instantaneous rate of change of some function on the fly.Twilight_guy said:None of my classes suck. Although I think one of my professors gives too much homework. I reached a point where I can see the good in anything and know that everything is in someway useful. Although I still don't know what multi0-variable calculus is a requirement for computer programmers.
