Seriously, if I were you I'd try and get this idea made and done. I know I'd play it.
OT: WWII FPS/RPG Open-world zombies game, full day/night cycle, Zombies are more aggresive at night, a huge fully explorable London with a bit of countryside too explore too, with Random Encounters and a proper story with a dramatic ending where you and the other survivors escape to the seaside and get a boat to freedom.
Another: On the other side of the spectrum, a balls-to-the-wall crazy action game set in a fictional timeline WWII; Nazi-occupied Los Angeles, 3rd-person-shooter, crazy fun melee and firearm fighting mechanics, with a ton of over-the-top set pieces like jumping out of a plane, mid-flight, and shooting at German planes (while falling) with a Shotgun.
Aerial hand-to-hand combat in the world of Milton's Paradise Lost (or Aristophanes' Birds).
Ferret simulator.
Free-roaming Roman political/gang warfare (think Milo vs. Clodius Pulcher, or the Patricians vs. the Gracchi) set during the collapse of the Republic.
Magic duelling game using the Kinect.

After watching an episode of Jersey Shore, you ( A sentient T-Rex with time travel and a laser cannon) decide its time to save humanity.
You play as a child locked in a large high school with an axe murderer, saving works very similar to the 1st dead rising or way of the samurai. (Meaning time advances as you play not as you complete objectives.)
EDIT: I like this idea so much that I'm going to cheat and describe it more. The game is very short but there are many story branches and multiple endings, involving how you will interact and help the other children. You cannot fight the axe murderer in any way, all you can do is run from him and hide in various lockers and things.

An FPS that's Campaign is slightly longer than 10 minutes and a few reloads.

EDIT (The "Actually sensical version") : A "Realistic" platformer where you play as a nameless Voiceless 10 year old Boy/Girl (You can pick) wandering through the post-apopolyptic German world where buildings fall, security turrets malfunction and shoot Passers-by, and half of the game your avatar is going to be so blood-scarred and damaged that by the end boss your just going to be a big blob of red walking blood.
So basically PoP NES + LIMBO.

Familiar genre, but a much more interesting setting, methinks. Opinions?
I like that one. You have certain objectives that you need accomplished but you can't send people to do them directly. You have to give out quests to do various things that will collectively and indirectly accomplish them.
You need to set rewards for the quests depending on what type of adventurer you need to get the job done the right way and balance the rewards so that there's enough incentive to get someone competent enough and you don't end up with no money at the end of it.
