I've put together a nice list for you should you decide to get a PS3.

For single player there's:

Demons Souls - 60+ hours of gameplay, brilliant RPG
Valkyria Chronicles - 30+ hours of gameplay, very fun strategy RPG
Ratchet and Clank: ACIT - Ratchet as usual, amazing
Ratchet and Clank Future: TOD - same as above
inFAMOUS - around 25 hours of gameplay, very fun parkour-ish aspect and fun electricity gameplay
Motorstorm 2 - amazingly diverse and fun offroad racer
Folklore - pretty weird but fun action RPG
Resistance 2 - pretty much a standard shooter but extremely epic, with imaginative and diverse weapons
LittleBigPlanet - great platformer with a limitless level editor
Disgaea 3 - 300+ hours of gameplay, tactical RPG that's not for everyone but very fun
Heavenly Sword - God of War with a woman, awesome
Uncharted 1 - Amazing story, mind-blowing visuals, likeable characters, great climbing and cover based gameplay and good replay value
Uncharted 2 - same as above times two
MGS4 - Brilliantly epic story and camo based gameplay
Katarami Forever - weird game but very addictive and different if you're into that stuff
Wipeout HD - Best racer this gen I'd say

Upcoming:

ModNaton Racers - LittleBigCartRacing, awesome
Heavy Rain - from the makers of Ferenheit and the same type of game so it should be pretty mind-blowing unless the last part of the game makes your character go super-saiyan again
God of War 3 - he rips off a guys head with his hands
The Last Guardian - from Team ICO, and when have their games been anything but amazing?
Twisted Metal
White Knight Chronicles
Gran Turismo 5

The best thing for me is, not very many of them are mindless shooters made for ADD kids that are too common these days, and most of them are in a wide variety of genres. Plus you get all the multiplat single player games like Assassins Creed 2. It's by far the best system to make a nice gaming combo with your PC. Well, it is for me anyway.

Remember kids: to get the most out of your Wii, you're going to need a few female deer.

(Sorry for the double post, but that misspelling is HILARIOUS.)

EDIT: Also, your summation is pretty accurate.
Ahh...I'll leave as it is for public hilarity I think.
yes please do. I havn't had that much of a laugh for a hell of a while (ok 5mins but thats not the point) lol

Jesus, nice list =o

Will start researching through those titles for ones that may personally suit me best :)

I'd say 360 but mostly because that's really the only "Next gen" console besides the Wii (which I dislike considering I'm not really into the games they produce aside from Twilight Princess) that I have personal experience with. The controller is large (for your man hands) and the games you've already listed as ones that you enjoy, are readily available on the 360, so I assume that you'll find more games that you'll like just as much.

Just toss a coin. It really doesn't matter too much.

If you want something completely different from PC gaming though, get a Wii.

Or hell, get an N64. Still remains my favourite console.
I didn't mention it, but my sister has a Wii... I dislike it... Not enough good games X_X

And as to the n64... I'm not a graphics whore per say, but that would be kinda hard to play on when I'm playing borderlands and such and even then I think the n64 was lacking on shooters QQ

Also come to think of it, wouldn't buying a new N64 be exspensive? they don't make them anymore and wouldn't be in stores...
I has one

really the only thing i have to say negative about the ps3 is the controller isn't as nice for big hands when you get used to the 360's
but since you didn't complain about the ps2, i should tell you it feels pretty similar.

All the ones I didn't list as (came to PS3 Later) are exclusively 360, except orange box, I gotta change that one.

If he enjoyed those, they are plenty more of that nature for the 360

and I have to ask, what the hell do people mean by "better complement"? I mean, I backed up my argument with facts about exclusive titles, why do people say it is a "better complement" anyway?
Orange Box and Prototype, too. So really, there are only two exclusives listed there. I don't mean anything by that, I'm just saying -- though it is odd to say "there are more like these on Xbox" when there are only a pair of exclusives in that lot. In any case, PC and Xbox 360 share a lot of "exclusives" being that they are Microsoft backed. Basically, you won't find God of War on a computer any time soon, but you will find all of the games you mentioned, so you've answered your own question.
I don't think Prototype is for PS3, anyway, many of the games that DID come out for PS3 in that list came out a year or more later, when they were already old news

That is a lot of time for them to be exclusively 360, and I think it makes a lot of difference
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prototype_game

Look, the only one of those that actually came to the PS3 later was BioShock. I get your point (even if your facts are incorrect), and I disagree with it. You said it yourself, the XBox and PC share similar games. And if he likes his PC, why not buy those games for it? Of course, there are exclusives that he wouldn't be able to get with a PC/PS3 combo, but he'd still be getting significantly more exclusives that way than with a PC/Xbox 360 combo. It makes sense to me, anyways. If you were to ask me the better console, I couldn't tell you. In this scenario, however, it seems to make more sense to get a PS3.

EDIT:... Ninja'd. Perhaps I should read the thread next time?

I would recommend the PS3 quite honestly. 360 is basically a more user friendly PC in terms of the games library. Sorry 360 fanboys but lets face it, a huge chunk of the 360 games library goes multiplatform to PC. You'll get more different games to play on the PS3 quite honestly dude. If you were just starting gaming and hadn't already been PC gaming then I would suggest the 360, but by owning a PC you've basically experienced 90% of what 360 has to offer.

Also as you said, you enjoyed Ratchet and Clank on PS2, and there's 3 of those for the PS3 already... plus Little Big Planet and others. =P

I know you are using it for the Single player, but the online has yearly subscirtion fee for the 360 where as the PS3 is free.
PS3 will have a longer lifespan, as it is 2 years younger than the 360 and it is Blu-Ray not HD DVD, so if you dont already have a Blu-Ray player, get a PS3, then you will
Xbox 360 at one stage had a 33% chance of RROD, but I am sure it is better than that now but still not great.

so the PS3 is
- More Single Player focused
- Break less
- has a blu-ray player
- is 2 years younger
- is smaller and quieter (now that the slim came out)
- Has God of War 3 which will be epic

Seems a pretty obvoius choice to me, I had a 360 and it RROD, so got it fixed under warranty and then sold it and bought a PS3, lucky I did the guy I sold the 360 to (my mates brother) has had it RROD 3 time in a year and a half deffinitly glad I switched, although I do miss Gears of War and Fable

Actually, Assassins Creed and Fallout 3 came out at the same time for the Ps3 and 360, only Bioshock came a year later, and Prototype is on the Ps3. Plus Fable is the only game there that is exclusive, the rest were on PC too so he's probably already played them. Just saying.
I know he already played them, I am saying the 360 caters better to that STYLE of games

Ok, I guess my facts are off, its surprisingly harder than I thought to find the damn information.

Anyway, I think the point is he is trying to switch from PC to console, and the whole point of his favorite game list is to find a console with those type of games on it
