A sad day for humanity or at least the public image of these women.

Truth be told I'm a guy and I'd hate to have my tallywhacker lopped off, none the less this made me laugh and who cares what people think? I for one am glad that they broadcast women saying that more women should slash off more mens dicks, I don't agree with it but it shows that people can say what they want and not be forced to say what some higher power tells them to say.
Yeah but then the problem is that men can't go out and say that women should have there vaginas removed on T.V and then we see the nasty over all picture where evrybody is equal but some are more equa than others.

No. It isn't. They're in their full right to be idiots, and there's nothing you can or should be able to do about it.
I agree with RanDOOM common decency is a lot more important of freedom of speech. Freedom of speech only has signficant value as a weapon against oppression. The right to be a total idiot and asshole has little value, and should carry little weight in matters like these. Here the woman are speaking in such a hateful maner that it has degrated to hate-mongering.
No. Just no.

No one should face legal consequences for making jokes--even highly offensive jokes--at another's expense. Ever.

Let public opinion be there judge. That is enough.

Having now watched the actual clip it seems the majority of the offensive comments came from Sharon Osborne, just in case anyone needed any more proof that the entire Osborne family are a bunch of window licking mentalists. Seriously I'd go as far as to call Ozzy the 'sane' one.
She also appeared to be on drugs or drunk whilst this was being recorded, I wouldn't paint the show in a bad light due to her idiocy, though it does raise questions of her suitability for higher profile work such as AGT.

What it would technically amount to is incitement, a place that is universally agreed to be a line way beyond freedom of speech, along with harassment, libel and slander.

while this in absolute awful taste, especially based on from what i have read/saw, the guy didn't deserve it at all, i can't help but say these women "have the right" to talk about it in that way..

honestly i am usually the first one to laugh at near everything digusting/fucked up/racist/sexist/ blah on the planet, but when someone who clearly doesn't deserve it and gets publicly humiliated on tv like that? that's pretty bad..

and if this was men, and a guy cut off a chicks boobs, in the same manner, you bet there would be hell to pay and that tv show would be burnt to the ground and sued to kingdome come from woman feminazi anger..

double standards are double i suppose..

Agree to disagree? I want to see some regulation for powerfull media such as newspapers and telivision. Jokes like these are dehumantalizing (hope I spelled it correctly) males, anything that dehumantalizes any part of any population should be illegal. But I can understand you think differently. We're probably from different cultures and upbringings, and make different priorities.

Dude... what the fuck?

Holy shit that is just... fuck man I don't even know. I hope the girl gets fucking destroyed in the courts. You get pissed friends staying over(or whatever) so you cut off his dick? Holy shit that's messed up.

And then there's those women are essentially joking about the whole thing. And some Women are actually defending this person.

What. The. Fuck.
This is what we call reverse sexism. I have never liked shows that are all about "what men like" or "what women like", so I guess all I have to say is that the people from any of these kinds of shows can go to HELL.
No, that IS sexism, all these things are 2 way streets, no matter what some people say, and they should be treated as such, society is changing, and men are not always the oppressors, and humanity needs to learn this, everyone can be an asshole, and their race, gender, sex, religion et cetera should mean they get a different word attached to it.

I know what you mean, and I agree with you, but I have to get the whole "ism" thing out there at least once a month...

There are good reasons to cut a mans dick off, perhaps he raped you, perhaps he tried to kill you or a member of your family, perhaps hes some African warlord who is responisble for thousands of deaths, those are about the only reasons I can think where it would be justifiable, what that woman did was terrible and criminal, and for those bitches to laugh about it is incredibly fucked up.

Wow. They're seriously saying that cutting off someone's sexual organs thus preventing the person from ever having sex is funny and some sort of act of defiance? Okay, how about I take a blowtorch to your vagina and then sow it shut just to spite you, because you're a total ****? Would that be hilarious?

I think what most people need to realize is that this being national television, there is the very great potential that he will see and hear every word. This wasn't a private conversation by any stretch of the imagination. Sorry if this was already said, but I didn't go through every comment.

Edit: Actually another terrible thing... the woman who did this is also going to see the show. I bet it's gonna make her feel a lot better.

Why not? If the jokes are incredibly hurtful and damaging to a persons reputation, why should they not face legal consequences for affecting that person life in a very negative manner?

On Free-Speech... the right is provided to insure the government has no authority to censor. The limitations are the incitment of violence against specific groups, people, slander/libel, etc. Making fun of someone, however distasteful, is not a limitation and is therfore protected under the blanket of free speech.

On Jokes... a joke can only be such as long as the comedian is willing to perform it infront of the target. If a comedian cannot say a joke because of it's offensive nature; then it is not a joke and should never be told. Cripple joke? Say it in front of a wheelchair bound individual. Holocaust joke? Say it infront of a Jew. Castration joke? Say it infront of a unic (sp?).

On TV... stations, their affiliates, owners and various subsidiaries all get to determine what they air on the networks so long as it conforms within the governing boundries of the FCC. It the bosses of these women deem it worth airtime, then so be it; they will have to suffer or prosper according to the content of their programming.

On the crime... she should be punished according to the extent of her crime and serve appropriately. I would personally hate to see anything less than the full extent due to the sensationalized nature of this incident. Or have it fuel the ever burning fires of the gender wars.

I've never even heard of "The Talk" nor do I care to, but dick cutting aside, no, why the hell should they be punished for speaking their opinions? Their speech is just as (theoretically) free as anyone else's and if it's not respected why should yours or mine be? Should OT be punished for starting this thread? Should my roommate be punished for saying 'hello' to our neighbors? Of course not.

Well, would you also laugh if a woman had her sexual organs cut off and mutilated?

On the free speech issue. Free speech doesn't remove all consequences, just the legal consequences. You can't arrest these women for their behavior but the general public can protest and if that leads to these women getting fired, so be it. People have gotten fired for racial remarks, in recent memory I think of Don Imus. My memory may be flawed though.

So yes, they can say anything the like so long as it isn't a threat to public safety (you can't call "fire" in a crowded theater). The general public can protest.

The women on the far left had a full brain, the women next to her had half a brain... The others were just bitches... The red haired ***** was a full *****.

I forgive this style of dark humor on facebook accounts and personal blogs 'cause everybody sometimes makes dark jokes at something awful and if you go to those sites you should know what to expect.

But on TV? Day time tv... I think it's not only very wrong I think it's sick... All the women there were doing stupid jokes that I would accept in a private conversation (never on tv) but the dumb red haired *****... She was the only one that actually looked like she would do it!!

I think if people are on TV they have the responsibilities. Dark humor is just fine and dandy but there is a fine line between that and sick and these girls surely have no idea of how to act in society.

The best part was when the red haired ***** (I don't know her name but this suites her just fine) said that cutting of the breasts "is diferent"... Sadly (I guess) I do believe in free speach so I don't think they should face any legal consequences for being stupid bitches but they should be held responsible (give them a beating or something and see if they laugh).

This isn't comedy... this isn't dark humor... this isn't funny or mildly entertaining. I would tottaly excuse this in a private context as people have right to be stupid or dark or whatever and if you don't like it just stop talking to them. But there ARE social boundries that people too often seem to forget.

What bothers me the most is to imagine them bitching about violent video games or whatnot... They are just stupid bitches (the two on the left excluded) and the red haired ***** should just burn (in hell or whatever you believe in).

These women make me ashamed of being a woman. >.<
And this Catherine belongs in a mental institution.
The only situation I can think of where cutting off a man's penis is justified,
is if the guy is a rapist. And even then only if he does it more than once, or rapes children.
