Man, if only they had the money to pick up a PR firm that knew what they were doing instead of letting their suits antagonize the customer base with business logic.
"If only they had the money"

Haven't they secured enough of a steady stream? How much safer in the green do they need to be?!
Depends, don't forget that publishers rarely make consistent cash but rather spikes after release. WoW can mitigate that but how much money leaves at one time can change an entire quarter. Also guys like Kotick get bonuses based on how profitable the company is so he's looking to make sure it stays way up there.

So we are supposed to appreciate the buisness side of game publishing ?

.... why ?
Their entire mission statement is to make money.
From us.
By any means necessary.

Isn´t that what that Kotick guy has said again and again and again and again ?
That he is really proud to be focused only on the bottom line ?
Yes, I suppose it might be actually a difficult job, but why should I care ?
It´s a job done to make money.
You don´t get appreciation and cookie-points for doing that.
Get a job as a teacher or a nurse.
Then you get to whine about how hard it is.

The very idea that I should be more "understanding" of the difficulties these people go through just blows my mind.
