I think he has the word minority and majority mixed up.

But first, if you really want to get a better image, for the love of Hades, fire Kotick.

Fire Bobby Kopr**k that would clear the air alot.
You really think so? Some other non-gaming CEO will be hired and do the exact same thing. Just be smart Activision, dont let Kotick talk to anyone until its been approved by the PR dept.

So improving your image step 1 is to patronize us? Someone punch that guy in the face.
Time to state the obvious in my 2nd post: If you hate what a company does, ignore it. Don't buy their products, don't talk about them, don't criticize them, just completely ignore it.

Wanna improve your image? Kick Kotick out the door and we'll see where things go from there.
That's the answer I was hoping I'd see early on. Couldn't agree more, that guy is the fucking devil.

You might just be the most arrogant man I've ever met.

You are not number one in anything.

Except maybe being dicks.

Do the guys at the top not talk to each other?

YESTERDAY Kotick revealed that he thinks we're all pining to play a f*cking subscription for CoD!

Well that was offensive. Is it a vocal minority with some strong feelings you want to dismiss as unimportant, or is it or is it a base of gamers that are passionate and educated about their hobby, and have reasons to feel what they feel?

Perspective is very important, Activision, and gamers can see what your perspectives are. That's what needs to change. Not some PR.

How to make me like you as a company:

Publish something really risky, like EA did with Brutal Legend and Mirror's Edge

Don't screw your own employees after they made a game that made your company a bajillion dollars

Don't charge ridiculous prices for map packs

Don't be run by Bobby "Foot in Mouth" Kotick

I'd like to say he's lying, but there's at least some element of truth to that. Look what happened when Activison overtook EA. Even if activision wasn't a bunch of dicks, we'd still give them crap.

I feel bad for all the good honest people at Activition that have such oblivious bosses. This guy on the right track but hes moving in the wrong direction. And besides when the CEO of a GAME company said they what to tack the fun out of making games nothing you can do will remove that scar.

PR tip number one: Don't let Bobby Kotick bluntly bash every journalist he meets over the head with his evil plans for jacking prices up.

PR tip number 2: At least pretend like you fucking care about your "consumers" or they won't be consuming your product for all that long, from a business standpoint.

Activision Wants to Improve Image

Activision's chief operating officer Thomas Tippl says that his company would like to improve its relationship with gamers.

Amongst many hardcore gamers, Activision has a bit of an image problem, and this is something that COO Thomas Tippl is keen to remedy. Tippl blames much of the bad feeling on Activision's standing as the largest publisher around, saying that it's something that anyone in that position has to come to terms with.

"Obviously, we stay connected to what's going on in the communities, so we're not ignorant that there's a very vocal minority out there that has some very strong feelings," he said. "Whenever you become number one in any industry, you automatically get a target painted on your back. You've got to be able to live with that."

Tippl did say however that Activision could communicate better with the gamer community, but that for some people it would never be enough: "There are many things we can probably do better in the way we communicate with the communities so that we don't run the risk that certain things get pulled out of context and blown out of proportion."

"Now, can we do a better job from a PR and community management perspective? I think we can. We are focused on doing that, but you will always have a vocal minority that no matter what you do they're not going to be happy."

Here's as couple of ideas, right off the top of my head:

1 - Don't charge people 15 goddamn euro for a couple of sodding maps.
2 - Don't remove dedicated servers to pave the way for paid servers.
3 - Don't, above all, *don't* introduce a sodding goddamn subscription, now or never.

Alternatively, I can summarise it in one line: Don't try to milk your customers.

Fire Bobby Kotick, hire back West & Zampella and apologize and while we're at it - MW2 dedicated servers would be nice.
Then you'll have improved your image.

A vocal minority eh.
Somehow I think it's only a minority because only a few people have a clue about what activision does outside of knowing they make CoD.
Quoted for truth. He does, unfortunately, have a point. Think of their customer base, and then ask yourselves how many people in that group actually care about how Activision treats their developers or customers.
