I have officially stopped caring about what this guy is saying. He's an agoraphobe, yes, but at this point I think he's just taking the piss.

Heh.

Heheh.

That was funny.

...

...Oh right. It's real.

AND BY THE FUCKING WAY. Number 7 on his charges doesn't mean jack shit. The parents were retarded enough to leave their child alone while they play fucking WoW. That's in no way the game's fault.

His gameplay complaints are flimsy at best.

Recently a change was made where you can buy regular mounts at level 20, and the much faster epic mounts at 40, instead of at 40/60 like it was for almost 5 years; also, no expansion is needed to buy a ground mount. They've also reduced the overall experience required to level from 20-60, and increased experience rewarded from quests level 30 and above. Leveling has never been faster than it is now. A new player can easily get to level 20 - and likely higher, depending on how much they play - within the first free month.

He also complains about the corpse run after death being a big deal, when it's not. Corpse runs are usually pretty short, and if they really wanted to extend the amount of time a player has to invest, they would make it so you'd -lose- experience upon death like in some other, less-forgiving MMOs. Death is really a painless thing in WoW, and it's a necessary part of any game; where would the challenge be if you were running around unable to die, with nothing at stake?

As far as the real-life monetary charges go, a game like WoW isn't cheap to maintain for the devs. I mean, yeah, they're definitely making money off the monthly fees, but it's not pure profit because running any MMO is really expensive; that's why none of them are completely "free." Although I hate to say it, I somewhat agree with the complaint on the expensive charges for race/faction changes and server transfers. I can't see those costing the company much to do, and they're a bit overpriced for what they are. However, it's nice that they even exist.

Finally, all those other "complaints" where he references suicides and parental negligence revolving around WoW are irrelevant. He's not suing for THEIR benefit, but purely his own, and I can only reason he's talking about other people's hardships is to (poorly) hide the fact that he's a selfish, leeching, utterly demented asshole.

Oh, and if I were Martin Lee Gore or Winona Ryder, I would want him shot for dragging me into this fiasco. Jerk.

Agoraphobe Sues Activision Over "Hurtful" World of Warcraft

The crazy-ass bastard who sued Sony over a PlayStation Network ban and then launched suits against Microsoft and Nintendo has fired one last litigational salvo: He's suing Activision Blizzard because World of Warcraft [http://www.worldofwarcraft.com] isn't fun enough.

The story of Erik Estavillo should be familiar to all of us by now: The agoraphobic gamer filed a sequel lawsuits [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/93314-Agoraphobic-PS3-Owner-Sues-Sony-over-PSN-Ban] against Microsoft and Nintendo for the Red Ring of Death and the 4.3 update to the Wii firmware respectively. But that's not the end of it; today he announced his "final lawsuit," filed against Activision Blizzard because World of Warcraft isn't fun enough.

I make that point twice because although it may sound like a joke, it's not. Estavillo's complaint essentially breaks down like this: Blizzard charges too much money for World of Warcraft, a problem exacerbated by the fact that the game doesn't let people move around fast enough until they've sunk enough time and money into it to buy a mount or a "teleportation stone." But mentally ill people who rely on MMOGs as their primary form of entertainment and contact with the outside world have a tendency to die when they're deprived of them and since Estavillo himself is mentally ill and doesn't want to end up like all the other dead MMOGers out there, he wants the game "fixed."

Oh, and he wants a million bucks in punitive damages "for creating a game which hurts gamers rather than being a bridge of entertainment for them to pursue happiness."

But wait, there's more! To support his case, Estavillo has subpoenaed both Martin Lee Gore of Winona Ryder [http://www.depechemode.com/] to testify. "[Gore] will be a witness on 'alienation' and the ties it has to World of Warcraft, since he himself has been known to be sad, lonely, and alienated as can be seen in the songs he writes," he explained in an email to The Escapist.

Ok, let me just say this, fun is, has been, and will always be, from a person's point of view, no one will ever have same amount of fun as the other in the same game. You cant sue over not having fun, all you can do is just be mad that you spent money on it and move on.

He's breaking the rules, and he wants to be compensated for it?

Not that I make a point of agreeing with insane hyper-trolls, but I'm starting to worry about how much time I've sunk into that thing.
