Amazon warehouses unsafe even by warehouse standards

I talked about how bad Amazon is. How could you not know how bad Amazon is? So when you see Amazon delivery drivers running, you think that's normal, they just trying to get some exercise in?
I'm sorry that the guy, whom you apparently know very well, was not virtuous enough to post the graph showing how many more injuries people working at Amazon warehouses had compared to other warehouse jobs and the general public

(looks at the poverty rate now, along with medical bankruptcies, student debt and climate change) Yeah, it's doing a real bang-up fucking job, isn't it?
Please show me some socialist economy doing better. Just because unfettered capitalism is bad doesn't mean you just flush it down the toilet.

Why don't you tell us?
Why don't you google it?

The vast majority of people changing profile pics for the issue of the week are exactly what I explained. It's like the people that took profile pics with masks on during covid, I highly doubt when they took those pics they were within 6 feet of anyone else. What else is the point of that kind of stuff outside of signaling to others your stance? I have a friend that was very involved with the Occupy movement in Chicago and asked us to go with her for a day, and my first question is what are you guys doing except just hanging out? She had no answer so I didn't go. People just say such and such is bad but do absolutely nothing to help, which I'm beyond tired of and it's so hypocritical.

I'm not asking for much. Free college, Medicare for All, stronger labor laws, some other things. Things that work in the rest of the developed world but the US doesn't have because greed.

God, I get it, you're so much more virtuous and cool. What's that got to do with Amazon having 5 times more injuries than other warehouse jobs?

Like I said, I'm all for copying most policies from a country like Denmark, but that's not socialism. I wouldn't be for free college the way college is now. I went to college over 15 years ago (it's probably worse now) and you don't really learn much at all and it's one of the most inefficient ways to learn something if that's your goal, which in theory should be the goal. However, companies want that piece of paper so telling people not to go to college is a disservice. Fix college first, then you can talk about making it free because doing that with the way it is now would be a massive waste of money.

People being outraged about something important and doing nothing about it isn't helping Amazon workers. That's why I posted the theme of Batman Begins in my 1st post in the thread, "It's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you.” Do something, talk is cheap.

Cool, now say this publicly during the next domestic violence awareness and anti-sex trafficking campaigns.

Okay, if poverty is, in fact, falling, where and for who? Would you be as accepting of that notion if you were one of the 80% the world's population that uses less than 18% of the world's energy.

1200x-1.jpg

Are we basing it on the PPP model which is so flawed people fully starve to death while having double or more what's considered poverty?

Secondly even if poverty is truly declining on a global scale and not just for a tiny handful of people in North America, Europe and Japan can you prove that that is because of capitalism and not because of a set of systems and practices that exist within but are not exclusive to capitalism? And the reason things are fucked is maybe because all of the other shit that is exclusive to capitalism (profit motive, accumulation of wealth and private property)?

As usual, Phoenixmgs is talking out of his ass with no actual evidence to back anything up.

This is literally the first time I've ever seen you say anything like that.
I've said that plenty of times and to you at least twice:

If capitalism is so bad, then why is basically every single country in the world using it? People in this thread wanting socialism don't even know what socialism is yet I'm the one talking out my ass?

"If slavery is so bad then why do so many countries use it?"

And this is meant to impress me? Honestly, I can't keep track of your insincere bullshit, dude. Ninety percent of what comes out of your mouth is self-aggrandizing nonsense or status quo apologetics.

Right, because you're the only person in the world who knows what he's talking about at any given time. Once again, your arrogance knows no bounds.

Do you guys just never want to agree with someone or learn something? Knowing what socialism is pretty simple. And saying that private ownership of things isn't evil is akin to slavery? You talk about me being insincere, you guys can't even look up basic definitions of things and call the way everyone does business as wrong or evil. Even countries you think have much better policies and are something to emulate are all capitalist. You're acting like capitalism is some right-wing ideology.

What the fuck? You said you never saw me say anything like that when I did numerous times, and now at least 3 times to you personally. I'm literally just addressing your statement and it's somehow meant to impress you? I'm just correcting your statement.

See, you're doing it again. You're assuming that you and only you know what you're talking about. I'm quite aware of what socialism is, in fact I probably understand it better than you do, guy.

And the reason I have a problem with you is because you're as arrogant as you are mendacious. Every post of yours is like a cheese grater to the scrote because the egomania is just that overbearing.

So, just skipping over the bit where we get called socialists for arguing we should have policies like all those other capitalist countries because in the US you get called a socialist for not wanting to hunt the homeless for sport?

Cool.

The reason most of the people who identify as socialists in the US call themselves that is because they advocate for any type of government regulation of corporations at all, be it healthcare or income inequality or environmental regulations or labor rights or raising taxes the fabulously wealthy or rent relief or consumer protections or social security or not allowing politicians to be bribed by unlimited campaign spending or tax fruad or interracial marriage or any number of basic, common sense things.

If you call everything you don't like socialist, then people who like what you don't like will call themselves socialists. And despite claims to the contrary, the media just basically let's the Right define every term in politics in the US

Then why do so few capitalists know what it is? For that matter, why do so few capitalists understand what capitalism is?

Quick test, seeing as you're so good at reading what my philosophical and political views are. What do I believe? What system do I actually believe in?

And saying that private ownership of things isn't evil is akin to slavery?
That's not the point I made and the fact that you think you're clever when that point sailed right over your head proves how little you actually understand anything. The very simple point I was making was that just because the whole world adopts a system doesn't prove it's good. The world has frequently adopted many horrid systems. So just saying

If capitalism is so bad, then why is basically every single country in the world using it?
Is not proof that capitalism is good and is in fact an incredibly childish and silly thing to say.

You talk about me being insincere, you guys can't even look up basic definitions of things and call the way everyone does business as wrong or evil.
What definitions have I not looked up?

Even countries you think have much better policies and are something to emulate are all capitalist.
Go ahead and tell me what countries I think we should emulate.

You're acting like capitalism is some right-wing ideology.
It is.

But seriously you are making a lot of assumptions about what it is I believe, so tell me what is it I actually believe?
