Cannot fucking wait. I have been demanding a sequel for this game since the first one came out.

Tis but a trailer Root. Tell me true, have we not been burned by the smoke and trickery of what -could- be before? For what it is, tis a fine trailer, but tis no game sooth.

Take a look, the quality of McGee's output went down after Alice: Scrapland, bizarre but passable. Then that abomination called Bad Day LA. A slight up from that with Grimm, barely. I like the concept as before, but, he doesn't have my faith until after he delivers a good product.

I loved the first game. I'm sure I'll give it a shot when it comes out.
The music in the trailer sounded pretty good. Here's to hoping it's all as good as in the first one!

Alice laughed. "There's no use trying," she said: "one can't believe impossible things."
"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

I still believe in impossible things.

I'm more than a little turned off the otherwise great premise, by the reason for the story; we saw in the beginning of the first game that Alice's beloved kitten knocks over Alice's oil lamp and sets the whole house on fire. Now he's retconning the main event of the first game just to have some flimsy reason for her to go crazy again?

The one thing I was really looking forward to, the concept art from the first game being actually visibly in the game, rather than a weaker pixelated version, has been let down by the Hatter looking less like... well, this:

I love the design for Alice and that the caterpillar is now a butterfly though, that's kind of cool, although I don't know what those flying things were. They can win back all my respect if they include Jubjub Birds or something.

Bat. S^$&. Crazy.

I'm not the only one who's is a little unnerved by Alice, even when everything is bright and sunny, right? According to the tags, this thing will be out on consoles. Please tell me this is true.

suck it, Burton

But seriously now, the first American Mcgee's Alice is one of my favorite games, I grew up with it and I'm so psyched for this, it looks great.

I am really hoping this will not be disappointing. One of the few things I have been looking forward to.
Some day I really need to go on a hunt through the boxes in the basement for the original game. They should have made a screen saver of her getting bored and play with her weapons. I am so easily amused. >.<

Alice was one of the first pc games I ever got (the original AvP was closer to my first though) and it was an amazing game. It blew my mind how trippy the game was especially using the Quake II engine. I really hope this game stays true to the original and is just as fun and trippy.

Who says it's the first family, remember she's grown up and it's 12 years later. Maybe she got married and had a kid and they died or something. That said it is them recycling the same plot again more or less.

That said, my major problem with this is that I think "Alice In Wonderland" has been overdone in recent years. It's not just the Tim Burton movie, but also the Sci-Fi channel take on the things. On top of that I believe they did a comic series, and a whole "Wonderland War" series of young adult novels, and everything else. To me it seems like American Mcgee thinks that since people are imitating things from his earlier work, he might as well take advantage of the hype. It does seem that he's showing up 5 minutes to late to the party on top of everything else, and the guy who first had the original spin, doesn't seem to have one this time, instead choosing to rehash what he did before.

If it was me, I'd probably wind up taking another kids property that while not unknown isn't being retreaded quite as much. I look at "The Wizard Of Oz" as having a lot of potential for a "twisted" approach that hasn't been exploited. We've had "Tin Man" and a few books like "Wicked" written with alternative takes on it, but it's not currently being as retreaded as much as "Alice". What's more I don't think anyone has really done a mature-themed Oz video game.

A while back I saw a picture someone did of a hypothetical American Mcgee take on an S&M Strawberry Shortcake (or something like that), it's funny that the fan art he inspires seems to be moe creative than the guy himself.

Well, let's see. Concept is sound. Alice looks deformed enough to have a cartoony feel but realistic enough that her actions are disturbing. He's fighting for less gore so he has a feel of how bloody his game wants to be. But American McGee is kind of a... well, kind of a David Cage. (I would too, if I was named that). I choose to be cautiously optimistic about this game.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! <link=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EyeScream>MY EYYYYES!

I feel the urge to track down the original and play it. Then get this one, and play it. Without my parents seeing.

Although maybe they won't mind. He had to fight to keep the blood splatter LOW? That's a first that I very much approve of.

If you liked the nightmare Scarecrow bits in BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM, you must play the first game!

Excuse me while I dig through my collection for one specific CD-ROM game from my early adulthood. I think there's something I need to play again...

And now I have that damn song stuck in my head. Thanks.

American McGee's Alice was a game I sadly skipped, but I hear good things. Maybe I'll give this game a try, but then there are so many nice games out this year.

Exactly what I was thinking; why he decided to use a screenplay as stupid as that I will never know (though his films have been sliding down as of late, so maybe he's just over-the-hill). Anyway, hopefully this turns out to be good.
