Is there some sort of iPhone-induced retardation going on? Has Apple been spiking the Kool-Aid lately? This is like ther third mobile developer in a relatively short span of time to spout this sort of bullshit. And it's not even borderline bullshit that a sane person could possibly be convinced of. This is like try to convince the Pope of the virtues of Jediism.

I could have swore that Angry Birds was coming out on the 3DS soon...

Not the best thing to say about someone who is supporting YOUR GAME on their handheld.

Sorry boyo, but your a moron. I have played at least five catapult flash games long before you came onto the market, so your unorigninal. The reason why your able to "innovate" is because frankly, you can afford to. A triple A developer can't because if they fail, then the company will lose out a great deal. Finally, how in all that is holy, do you think you can compete with COD? I don't get home and think I'd rather play Angry Birds over COD. Hell, I don't play it anyway, since I could go on newgrounds and find a free catapult game if I was that bothered.

All in all, why didn't they interview people working in team meat or behmoth? They know what their on about, not this moron who got incredibly lucky.

Huh...let me count the ways you are wrong.

1) Is this the same way that PC gaming has been dying for the last decade?
2) Even if any particular mode of gaming is falling in popularity, that is merely the fact there is more choice
3) Games like angry birds are sucked up by my roommates on their phones. They play them on the bus, waiting for the bus, while watching trailers in the cinema etc etc. Firstly a console isn't even an option in those situations and secondly they have NO interest in a console and never did. These game sales are new customers not converted customers.

Oh sure after all I been playing dragon age II on my Ipad.. oh no I didn't!

Really I don't see consoles die for yes mobile platforms can do allot..but in some things they are not as good. I want my fully featured games!

True there is allot of joy to get from simple games with simple rules that yet together form a growing more rich game experience. Yet there are limits to how far they can go ...

In the end I like my consoles.. they play fully feathered games that are not constrained by download sizes and having to be nice to battery life.

Is there a growing market for smaller more mobile games? Duh! But it won't kill the consoles..or even the PC.

All these "old hat" methods are still with us. Has PC lost some of its market share yes but not all. Some games simply still work better on PC's and not mention consoles never hold the crown in certain areas. On more limited devices like mobile devices this even gets worse.

Fact is that the reason why so many games are relative simple in set up graphics and stuff.. is because the limitations of the mobile platform. This is also why I don't think the PSP2 will get far in life. Because as much as it is said to offer "the power of the ps3" I more worry about battery life. Sony sucks at battery life. In such a point that even smaller games are hurt by it! I dislike how every new version of the PSP got a smaller battery. Just crazy..

So the Ipad and Iphone..yeah nice platforms for gaming but yeah limited. And I applaud Apple here at least they know that gamers probably rather want to have longer gameplay then having nicer looking gameplay. I mean Sony listen up 4 hours?

mobile games that arent on handhelds are a joke to me, they are the kind of "fun" you get off flash game sites in the computer lab, youd rather be playing wow or cod or a real game, but miniclip is all you have.

Considering with each generation consoles get more and more popular, I don't see how this guy can say this with a straight face, I've no doubts the next console generation will be more popular than this one. Mobile gaming certainly has gotten bigger but it is a whole different market than console gaming and thus will never take over, it'll just be along side it sort of like with handheld consoles like the DS and PSP.

Why should we care about this idiot's opinion again?
He's not even worth responding to, yet we're doing it anyway. :/

After Rovio pulled all of their GDC shenanigans, can we really believe ANYTHING these guys say?

I'm in a conflict here. I'd like to support Rovio, it's originally from my native country. However, this man is in fact talking out of his ass.

Yes because when I'm at home there's nothing I'd rather do than sit in my sofa, in front of my huge TV, and stare down at my tiny phone and throw cartoon birds at stuff. The wave of the future!

Jesus, will people quit it with all these doom-theories? First it's PC-gaming, then consoles.. As far as I know they're all still doing perfectly fine.

This is nothing new. The new kid on the block foretells the demise of everyone else. Angry Birds is fun and novel in the way that Pong was. Do you see anyone remaking Pong, even on the Virtual Console? No.

Mobile games are a transient fad, just as as casual gaming is. It will return several times, but it's never going to become iconic or even very well remembered. Angry Birds is the Hootie of the gaming biz, and the Blowfish are now telling Radiohead and The Clash that the public won't care about them much longer.

I suggest this guy go country so he can keep his career going. Those people will accept anybody.

The core of gaming is hardcore gaming, which means consoles and, to a lesser extent, PC gaming. If you want a REAL analogy, this is like a guy who does a web series on youtube telling us that Chris Nolan and the people behind The Office (either version, don't care) will soon be out of work.

Just remember his words, 'cos god knows, we won't remember him

Yes, because everyone likes to play simple games with low production value on a tiny screen with horrible controls.
Love it.

Best avatar ever, btw.
