It's a little nit-picky, to be sure, but if they went to the trouble to mention Batman and Bruce Wayne, mentioning Selina Kyle without Catwoman seems significant.
If I were to place a bet, I'd bet that the lack of "Catwoman" in the press-release is out of superstitious dread, like talking about the "Scottish Play" when in the theatre; hoping beyond hope that they can use the character again without invoking the revenant spirit of the Catwoman movie. (Didn't that one get like a 20% "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes? I can't check here at the office.)

By the "Scottish Play", I assume you mean... Macbeth?!

Bane? Bane!? BAAANE!?

NOOOOO!
Nono. Nonono. All wrong. THIS is Bane!

What I'm more interested in is whether this 3rd (4th if you include the 60s TV show) take on Catwoman can match the incredible sexual power of Michelle Pfeiffer's rendition from Batman Returns (Halle Berry's fleabitten moggy isn't even in with a chance).

I'd also be curious to know why I'm not seeing the same internet-wide rage that greeted Idris Elba taking over a "white role" in Thor erupting at Tom Hardy (white) playing the traditionally Latin-American Bane...
White Supremacists suck.

This has me immensly excited for this movie. Mostly because I want to see Nolan's Bane break the Bat. Bane is a pretty good choice for villain in this along with Catwoman.(they'll have her, there's no point in having a Selina Kyle character and not have her be Catwoman as well)

My hope is that we'll get to see Bane break Batman somewhere around the middle of the second act so Gotham can go to hell in a hand basket while Bruce recovers. All the while Catwoman goes about stealing stuff and is a fun gray area character that really messes with Bruce's mind.

I'm surprised but not angry, it'll be interesting. I have my doubts on it being better than the dark knight but better then batman begins. I doubt nolan will screw up as he's got two very good writers, a good track record in films, and a cast of very good actors. I hope though that we'll get to see a proper batcave in this one; and please let them bring the tumbler back it was the most awesome batmobile in any film. Also I would like to see scarecrow make a cameo, I think he was a little underused in batman begins.
Edit: Finally I don't think Anne Hathaway will play the villain, I mean Catwoman is not really a true villain and has shown a good side in a number of things e.g batman returns and i think a few comics but i don't know specifically which ones. Talia Al gul (is that right?) makes more sence as a female villain as for nolans last batman film it would bring it full circle.

Not the hugest fan of Anne Hathaway, but Christopher Nolan hasn't made a bad film yet in my opinion, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here

I'm not sure about Tom Hardy as Bane either. I love Tom Hardy, but I'm having trouble picturing him as Bane. Although, again, I trust Christopher Nolan, so I'm sure I'll end up going to see this once it's out, and probably love it as much as I have the other two films in the series

Right after The Dark Knight came out, I told a friend that Bane and Catwoman seemed like a good next step for the series, but I hope there's a few more surprises than that (I was actually interested in the Hugo Strange rumors).

Someone still needs to change that title, though. The Dark Knight Rises...just saying it out loud sounds wrong.

Check my post history fools! I was first to call Bane as the big-bad in Nolan's third!

And I was alone. Mad they called me. MAD! And let all remember that when I sundered the Heavens and brought forth this prophecy from the Void: I was denied.

I. Was. Denied.

I'd imagine Bane would be a mixture of works out a lot and super steroids with him being a match for Batman even without the drugs.

I just lost all possible interest in the movie. There are few actors/actresses I consider to be quite as annoying and bad at what they do as Anne Hathaway. Fucking hell, I loved the first two, and now they gotta ruin it for me like this?
You haven't even seen a clip of it yet.

This is Christoper Nolan, he does know what he's doing, and no one exactly expected Ledger's performance.

Bane and Catwoman for the final movie of the trilogy? Really?

I'll reserve judgement until I see the movie, but this wasn't really what I expected out of Nolan. I'll wait and see.
I'm pondering the same thing. And it's not even necessarily Catwoman yet, just Bane who is a pretty D-list Batman villain.

At least its not Halle Berry...
yeah, thank god. And actually, ever since her role of Catwoman, I've pretty much hated the character. I hope it ends up better than I'm expecting it to be.

Anne Hathaway is the one of the most annoying actresses in Hollywood and probably the worst choice for Catwoman. It must have been Opposite Day when they came up with that one...
