I want to believe this is a joke, but having been to... that place... before, I could buy them going mad enough to attempt a war on snow.

We don't CARE about Anonymous!

So stop Feeding the Trolls!

I bet I'll probably be put on probation for this comment.
Hell I'm glad; they are finally picking on people who will actively provide entertainment instead of those who can't fight back.

OT: Wow. And just when you thought they had enough enemies they had to fight Mother Nature as well. Whats next, a Time War?
Don't joke. Anonymous will start trying to make their own TARDIS, and go around lulz-ing THROUGH TIME AND SPACE. Not even the Daleks were so dangerous!

First of all, I mean no disrespect by what I'm about to say. Just wanted to get that out of the way. Now I would like to point out some mistakes that were in your article.

First of all, Anonymous is not, nor will ever be the entirety of 4chan, a unified party of people, or representatives of said group. By definition, if someone is anonymous, this means that they would rather be unnamed, or unidentified. This being said, anon is not a big notorious group of hackers (another topic as well, hackers has nothing to do with anonymous) that deems it necessary to fight all things business against Julian Assange. Nor is the whole of anon dedicated to trolling the fuck out of a nine (eleven?) year old girl (lulz were still had). Anonymous is, and always will be, just a group of people that has no single minded view, will not follow other people, and most of all are not a unified, conformed group of certain idealogical principles.

tl;dr?: Refer to video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ4HSwb59IA&feature=related
Past the entire cheesy blockbuster like theme behind this video, the idea is there and is very correct.

Second of all, not all of 4chan is a single unified group of people intent on bringing about their own viewpoints on situations. While, yes, in essence everyone on 4chan is "anonymous" this is only because of the fact that they feel no need to identify themselves and perhaps can do certain things that you cannot do when you have the constant pressure of being judged by others. As faux news referred to 4chan: "an internet hate machine", you inadvertently are joining faux news' perspective on anonymous and 4chan.

Thirdly, the plan has made a slight logical error. They choose to attack weather channels, the goal? To stop the snow...in essence this is what the plan is. "HURR DERR LET'S ATTACK A MEDIA SITE THAT GIVES US INTEL ON WHAT MAY HAPPEN SO THAT THE SNOW WILL STOP!". Basically, this is an "what is this? I don't even" moment. It escapes all boundaries of logical limitations. Honestly, the weather channel and affiliates are only reporting on what the weather will be like. "Snow will be here, rain here, tornadoes possible here" so on and so forth.

SO GREAT if you destroy the weather related media but hey when you wake up to find an unexpected eleven feet of snow covering your house, well you'll wish you prepared won't you?

Finally, another slight logical error here. If you are fighting wearing coats, boots, gloves etc. because you want to show that snow cannot dictate what you wear, then why are you following what these guidelines are telling you? "don't wear jackets because the snow want's you to. But that means you have to follow me now, so don't wear jackets because I don't want you to".

I don't know what's funnier: Operation Frozen Vengeance, or the people who can't tell that it's a joke.

Having fallen off my motorbike not 6 hours ago cos of Ice and busted my mouse arm and some of my keyboard fingers, i have decided to wholeheartedly support this initiative.

Or it could be the morphine.

P.S. This message took me some 15 mins to type. Grrrrr.
I laugh at your 15 minutes of fame. :p As long as you're not going to die or anything.

I don't know whether to feel pity or fear in response to discovering just how many people out there have a complete lack of ability to detect satire. Honestly, it's one of those shock moments when I read through the comments section. We all have our weaknesses but I just want to sit one of these people down and say "How do you not know this is a joke? Seriously how?" If you thought the war on snow image had even the slightest possibility of being created for any serious motive or goal, I'm talking to you. Our future looks bleak.

yes i too hate snow i remember going for a walk through a pass in a bunch of hills and about a quarter of the way up the vanguard of our great enemy was spotted landing on the ground from its massive transport and production clouds
the other members of my party said gosh isn't that pretty to which i replied no it is snow just wait if you think this is bad you will be dismayed by what comes
we pushed on in face of our enemy as we approached the cairn at the top of the pass the largest of our enemies clouds was blotting out the sun so large was the assault and the snow forces were so numerous that only a few meters was visible before being blotted out by the troops of the snow army but we trudged on and the assault worsened until one of our number fell a small victory for the snow
i grabbed my comrade and began to drag her through the fallen snow flakes until we reached a fortified bunker that the snow could not breach and used the facilities there to revive our fallen compatriot
as the battle raged on the the flakes of snow began to falter perhaps the corpses of their number gathered into great drifts weakened their resolve
we seized our chance to carry the battle and exited the bunker with other parties who had joined us in our defense where upon a valorous march we gained our objective the bottom of the pass to the territories not controlled by the armies of snow and so ended the battle called small blizzard

this shows how great worthy and dangerous an enemy snow is and how we must gather all our might to bring the fight to the enemy so far their attacks are predictable though still devastating but anon for all its wisdom in in error to fight snow our intelligence services must be able to predict its attacks and we must use all our modern tools and technology against our great and oldest of foes

OH, yay! that's just what I need, 4chan telling everyone to forego winter clothes when the snow arrives!

I've been telling people to do that for years, but do they listen? No!

Although, In fairness, I don't hate the snow, I merely strip down in it to assert dominence over the colder forces of nature...

Keep in mind that we do not know if this is a real initiative from a member of Anonymous or 4chan, or if someone is satirizing the group by co-opting its slogans and modus operandi for this counter attack on the weather terrorism that snow has subjected on the world.
in other words it's just a post, or maybe a thread
if I want to know what 4chan thinks is funny this week I'll go there, or ask someone what they thought was funny 5 years ago

Heh. Good trolling.

This is actually pretty damn funny. I approve.

Gosh darn it snow, we will have our payback!
