I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet but I'm rather disappointed at some of the posters in this thread. Especially the ones who basically stated 'I hope she dies' or something along those lines. Saying and doing such things, makes you no better then they are. Saying someone should die, or burn in hell for something they did is what they do everyday, and yet your repeating their message in reverse and trying to claim that your better then them?

Personally, I'm rather impressed by the majority of Anonymous's responses. Especially as he clearly tried to be calm and tolerant, despite her abuse and threats. As funny as I found the little website trick, I am rather disappointed that they did it. Especially with the FBI already looking into Anonymous's activities at the moment, I would hate to see people trying to rationally spread a message jailed for the activities of extremists, or things they do in the height of passion.

Don't get the wrong idea, but I think Anonymous is slowly getting ahead of itself. I mean, sure, that church deserved it, but I get the feeling they want to swing the staff around the internet. And I'm not sure if I or others really want that.

I thank the escapist who originally posted this up so as I can truly express how I felt after hearing Shirley's rant:

Okay so honestly, this is starting to get annoying. Do we really need a news post about every single move Anonymous makes? Even the stuff Elizabeth Grünewald used to post in the news room is starting to look interesting compared to the constant talk of Anonymous. Are people really that interested in knowing what a group of people on the internet do?

Not trying to be a douche, if I come off as that, just saying that it's slowly getting out of hand.
I kind of agree with this guy, regardless of the probation thing. Anonymous would probably go away if they were payed less attention. Any 15 year old with a laptop can join anonymous's 'cause.' They're just activist bullies really. So they take down websites, who really cares?

Putting peoples personal data across the internet is a poisonous thing to do anyway, regardless of who they are. im thinking of the cat in the bin lady, how can you justify that sort of thing?

I could watch this all day. It's hilarious to see some pissed-off fanatics (not trollin') trying to discipline Anonymous. Anonymous wins, and if I wore a hat, it would be off to them <3.

I absolutely love seeing Westboro's antics. I despise them, and I wish they would stop doing their psychotic petitions.

People are obviously interested in this sort of stuff. Deal with it.

I have spoken against Anonymous many many times, I tend to focus more on their many cases of dickheadedness, (shut up, it's a word,) than the few instances of good they do but that... that made my day. That made my fucking week. That was like seeing someone punch my arsehole of a former boss and the **** who stole my bike in one swing.

I think Pakman got the 'over 9000' reference too judging by the grin.

Interestingly enough a couple of years ago a reporter at my former University's magazine had an interview with Shirley. I'm still impressed by how utterly professional he was, I know that with me being my argumentative self I couldn't have resisted getting into a shitfight - and you never wrestle with a pig because you both get covered in mud and the pig likes it. Likewise I was impressed with how well both Pakman and the Anon rep coped with that... whatever it was, I imagine it would take considerable restraint.

The terrible memes, the in-jokes, the 4chan and the online bullying... if only those weren't a part of your thing Anon we may have got along. For now though I'm just going to enjoy that video and I promise to try and be nicer about you in the future. Well played.
