Lith
"Lith, you need to start registering the difference between emotional stress and concern, and physical stress and concern. If you can't tell I'm hurting inside then you don't deserve the ring I had Titania give to you. You probably didn't even register what she said on any level, or pay attention to the gift she gave."
Ring? What the hell is she... Reaching back to where she'd stored it, she pulled out the small metal box and opened it, staring at the ring inside. She was serious? I just... "You stupid *****..." She muttered to herself as she stared at the ring, slumping back in her seat. You idiot...after ALL you two've been though, you doubt her feelings? Lunette was MY friend, but when I tried to defend her name, 'Lara shut me out! You dumb fucking ****...and just HOW would THAT have played out? She knew full well what would've happened; she was already pissed, and whatever Helena would've said, she'd've responded with a fist to the Sisters face...not that it wouldn't've been satisfying. Because of your own bloody-mindedness, you shut her out...and when SHE came to you, SHOWED you she still cared, you threw it back in her face.
"I miss the old you... Please just come back..."
It was the first time in a couple of days she'd actually looked Solara in the eyes and she felt like she'd just been gutted, knowing she was the root cause of the pain she saw. Swallowing hard, she choked back her tears; if it'd just been Urd and Dante, she wouldn't've cared, but she wasn't going to give those bolter bitches the satisfaction of seeing her cry. Closing her armoured hand slowly around the box and the ring inside, she sat forward once more.
"When I was arguing with Helena, and you shut me down, I thought you were saying that my friendship with your mother didn't matter, that you didn't want or need me any more...and that infuriated me, so I shut you out. Now I realize you were just stopping me from making a mess of the situation. After I'd cooled down, I should've realized that, but instead I focused on my resentment, and let it fester, so when you extending your love to me in its fullest, I thought it was a lie and dismissed it."
Reaching out, she took Solara's hands in hers, and pressed the box and ring into them. "You deserve better than that, and I'm sorry." She said so very softly, her voice unsteady. "I will follow you into the heart of the Eye and beyond if need be, but you deserve somebody who understands you and will never doubt you...not some stupid, emotionally clueless, old **** like me." Coming out of her seat slightly she kissed Solara on the cheek. "I will always love you...but like I said, you deserve far better than the likes of me..." With that she released the Inquisitor and sat back, fighting desperately to maintain composure, and wishing she could fully retreat into her own armour.
