"Lith, you need to start registering the difference between emotional stress and concern, and physical stress and concern. If you can't tell I'm hurting inside then you don't deserve the ring I had Titania give to you. You probably didn't even register what she said on any level, or pay attention to the gift she gave."

Ring? What the hell is she... Reaching back to where she'd stored it, she pulled out the small metal box and opened it, staring at the ring inside. She was serious? I just... "You stupid *****..." She muttered to herself as she stared at the ring, slumping back in her seat. You idiot...after ALL you two've been though, you doubt her feelings? Lunette was MY friend, but when I tried to defend her name, 'Lara shut me out! You dumb fucking ****...and just HOW would THAT have played out? She knew full well what would've happened; she was already pissed, and whatever Helena would've said, she'd've responded with a fist to the Sisters face...not that it wouldn't've been satisfying. Because of your own bloody-mindedness, you shut her out...and when SHE came to you, SHOWED you she still cared, you threw it back in her face.

"I miss the old you... Please just come back..."

It was the first time in a couple of days she'd actually looked Solara in the eyes and she felt like she'd just been gutted, knowing she was the root cause of the pain she saw. Swallowing hard, she choked back her tears; if it'd just been Urd and Dante, she wouldn't've cared, but she wasn't going to give those bolter bitches the satisfaction of seeing her cry. Closing her armoured hand slowly around the box and the ring inside, she sat forward once more.

"When I was arguing with Helena, and you shut me down, I thought you were saying that my friendship with your mother didn't matter, that you didn't want or need me any more...and that infuriated me, so I shut you out. Now I realize you were just stopping me from making a mess of the situation. After I'd cooled down, I should've realized that, but instead I focused on my resentment, and let it fester, so when you extending your love to me in its fullest, I thought it was a lie and dismissed it."

Reaching out, she took Solara's hands in hers, and pressed the box and ring into them. "You deserve better than that, and I'm sorry." She said so very softly, her voice unsteady. "I will follow you into the heart of the Eye and beyond if need be, but you deserve somebody who understands you and will never doubt you...not some stupid, emotionally clueless, old **** like me." Coming out of her seat slightly she kissed Solara on the cheek. "I will always love you...but like I said, you deserve far better than the likes of me..." With that she released the Inquisitor and sat back, fighting desperately to maintain composure, and wishing she could fully retreat into her own armour.

Solara had no shame in letting her tears flow down her cheeks. She embraced her emotions , let them flow instead of the emotionless portrait inquisitors usually put up. "Lith... I don't care what you think I deserve... If I had wanted anyone else, i wouldn't have chose you. I need you and I'm not going to sit here and take no for an answer... Not after I made the diamond the same color as your eyes... I put my heart into this and expect nothing less than a happy yes so we can move past the fact the sourness ever even happened." Solara begged and pleaded hr, holding the box towards her with the ring shining brilliantly purple.

"Everyone has their flaws... We're only human and that's what makes us beautiful and unique. If you want to spogize, then just say yes..." She said, her courage filled as her cheeks were still wet from the tears the girl was extremely hopeful, wanting to see Lith stop fighting it and just make the decision that solara felt she was sure of: that they both wanted it.

"Lith... I don't care what you think I deserve... If I had wanted anyone else, I wouldn't have chosen you. I need you and I'm not going to sit here and take no for an answer... Everyone has their flaws... We're only human and that's what makes us beautiful and unique. If you want to apologize, then just say yes..."

She couldn?t bear to look Solara in the eye, while she was called out on her self-loathing bullshit. She wanted nothing more than to retreat into her armour and curl into a fetal position; instead she once again forced the onrushing tears back, and then made herself sit up. Her hand visibly shaking, even in armour, she reached out and took the ring. "You know," She said smiling slightly, but with a still unsteady voice. "There's no real way to wear that comfortably while in armour right? On Cadia, only civilians bothered with jewellery. Guard or PDF never bothered with 'engagement' decorations, but once married the couple would get matching ink."

Leaning in closer her smile grew a bit more. "But since you did go through all the trouble to make a ring, and you still seem set on this damned fool of an idea, I guess I have no choice but to accept." Reaching out with her other hand, she cupped the back of Solara's head and pulled her in for a brief but deep kiss. "I also promise to try and get along with your pet Eldar...but don?t expect a miracle." Once again she tucked the ring back into a storage area of her armour. "Oh and while I think of it, I have a favour to ask...Helena has personally insulted me, and I intend to redress myself at an appropriate moment. All I ask is that you not interfere, and keep her Sisters away if they try to intervene."

Thane began to speak "He's in the process of being stabilized currently." he then realized that something else was going on as Solara began to speak to her bodyguard. He and his guards listened awkwardly before walking out of the room. He had said what he needed to for the moment. He ordered a crew to load the Ancient, Egerion into a secondary thunderhawk and had a pilot move into the bay to wait for them to settle themselves.

[hr]

The eversor Vymazat in the medicae bay was being tended to in the medicae bay, without a constant intake of drugs they tended to die of organ failure. He would soon be moved into a craft for transit to the surface.

[hr]

The techpriest Anthony stood in place throughout this exchange confused at things, not realizing his mind was as damaged as it was, the repaired and new engrams combining memories and people with eachother in an attempt to recover corrupted data. He could hear what was going on but he had no context.

He looked to Sana and a thought crossed his mind before fading away. He walked into the nearby craft and took his place inside.

"Karr. You'd do well not to call me a girl again. Respect is earned, and if i had not staved off the, wave of tyranids, or immobilize whatever happened to that techpriest, your squad would have been missing members or non existent. I'm not asking you to worship my feet or even like me. but i do ask you respect those you owe your life to."

Helena instantly bowed. "Yes, Inquisitor." she spoke. Just remember girl, respect is earned but it can be lost as well. Why follow someone with a death wish when I could be used elsewhere? She thought before motioning to her sisters to join her on the Thunderhawk. She sat near the bay door, more out of habit than necessity.

Mara heaved a sigh of relief. Thankfully the other member of the routine stepped in. Now hopefully the ride down and the time on surface would pass uneventfully. Yeah right Mara, you kidding yourself there. She though with a shake of her head. She looked towards Ru one last time before going to join her sisters. She still cared for all of them, despite what she had learned.

Solara looked at lith and smiled with a sigh of releif after their kiss and lith's announcement. "Well, i'm sure the guardsmen would do well with moral if you two had a foxy boxing match. Underwear, boxing gloves. think of it, i can sell tickets." she said quietly so only Lith could hear, but couldn't help giggling like a schoolgirl at the thought. "And thank you hun, for returning to you and killing that nid who buried up your ass and made you such a *****." she said normally now.

[hr]

Sana smiled at Ru as he ruffled her hood she had up. Ru went off to join Egerion in the Thunderhawk he was tied down in. "Thought you could use some company for the trip down." he said, leaning against the side of the thunderhawk, placing his helmet back on.

Sana meanwhile went into the thunderhawk with the rest of the group and sat next to Anthony. "Your gears looked like they were turning a bit back there. might i ask what you were thinking about?" she asked him, curious over the techpriest.

Lith smirked, and cuffed Solara lightly in the shoulder. "Dream on you little deviant...I intend to beat that smug ***** bloody." Assuming she doesn't flatten me with her first hit.

"And thank you hun, for returning to you and killing that ?Nid who buried up your ass and made you such a *****."

That made Lith laugh. "Please, I'm still a *****...I'm just your *****." As the words left her mouth, Lith?s eyes went wide as she realized what she said. ?That?s not what I mean..." Slumping into her armour a bit, she groaned. She's never going to let that go...

[hr]

Egerion

"Thought you could use some company for the trip down."

"Much appreciated Brother." Egerion replied. "One does tire of just one's thoughts and own memories after a while. So...tell me, how do things fair between that Inquisitor and the Sisters?"

Anthony turned to Sana in the compartment as it began to close with the group inside "I'm not quite sure. Something about homunculitic serum transfusers." He paused "I'm not sure how that relates to what came after but, I've been half remembering an operation and that thought seemed to bring up something. Were you part of the XQR-45 liberation fleet during the Nimbosa Crusade?"

[hr]

As everyone seated themselves the pilots moved into the Thunderhawks, sealed the holds, and took off. Within a few minutes the crafts entered the Atmosphere and landed upon the surface. Outside of the crafts there was a largely forested world, classified as a frontier world by the Imperium. The humans living on it survived through a network of recently walled settlements and cities connected by permacrete roads. As the hatch to the outside world opened the group would find they are in a large city known to the locals as Bremen, an industry settlement producing low level chemical stimulants for the war effort. The Thunderhawks landed in an area about twenty feet from the entrance to Bremen's commissarial depot, with troop quarters and local establishments not far away. With no one to greet them, it could easily be assumed that they were to be left to their own devices.

One of the few notable things in the distance was the sound of sporadic autocannon fire coming from beyond the flakboard and crete walls surrounding the city.

[hr]

The Eversor Vymazat was loaded into a drop pod before the maintenance sedatives wore off in his system, the drop pod was moved for a few minutes before it was ejected from its hold. Little data was given and few orders were relayed to him, though two did stick out: don't kill faithful imperial subjects and personnel and obey Inquisitor Solara Draco. Oddly as the second was read a third flooded his mind, overriding the other two in its importance, "Watch the psyker for impiousness. If the psyker is possessed by the enemy, put it down."

After a few moments, the feel of atmosphere penetration came. As the sedatives wore off fully a warning light became visible, how long it had been there was unknowable. The warning it gave was that the course correction module was damaged. A few moments later a thump could be heard as the pod hit the ground. The restraints upon the Eversor released and the hatch to the outside world opened.

Outside was a wooded forest, miles wide and definitely not the intended target. In the distance the ripping noises of slugga and autogun fire could be heard. A horde of Feral Orks with looted and makeshift firearms were assaulting a convoy of ill equipped locals transporting munitorum grade amphetamine rations and ammunition from Bremen to its sister city of Revnal.

As the Thunderhawk set off from the Inquisitorial Battle-Barge, Dante was silently praying to the Emperor for a safe journey. It was a few minutes later when he felt a sudden thump as they stopped moving and the hatch began to open by itself, revealing what appeared to be a rather inhabited world from what he could make out from his position near the rear of the transport. The sound of heavy cannon-fire could be heard off in the distance.

"Looks like we'll have to handle things ourselves from here, judging from the lack of a welcoming committee."

"Whilst I imagine we'll have to check-in with the commissarial depot over there, whose up for a little exploration?"

The ride down was, dull, none of the usual 'pre battle' air hanging over the group, it was just a long dull ride from space to planet. As the hatch opened the sight of an active base, complete with heavy cannon fire in the distance, probably aim in the general direction of the Orks mentioned earlier. There was no welcoming comity but she didn't expect one ether, in fact the few people she saw seemed pre-occupied with what ever tasks they'd been assigned.

It was refreshing in a way to see 'normal' people again.

"Whilst I imagine we'll have to check-in with the commissarial depot over there, whose up for a little exploration?" Dante said

"Probably, the 'yappy little dogs' bark enough as is, shouldn't give them more reason to bother us, but having a look around sounds good." Urd said as she turned back toward Dante.

Even though it was a short drop to their LZ, Lith was still fast asleep before the Thunderhawk hit atmosphere, if for no other reason than to avoid the lewd comments from Solara that were sure to result from her poorly chosen wording. Though sleeping soundly through the decent, she snapped awake as soon as the craft touched the landing pad.

"Whilst I imagine we'll have to check-in with the commissarial depot over there, who's up for a little exploration?"

"Well I'm game." She said, getting to her feet. "But first I wanna find a can opener, and some flak armour to walk about in; this 'clanker' stuff is great and all in a fight, but too bloody confining...guess you need Sororitas training to get used to it."

Helena stepped off the Thunderhawk, turning her head left and right as she took on the groups surroundings. She nodded a moment later. A safe haven, or as safe as one could get this close to a combination of daemons, a hive, and an ork WAAAGH. It will do for the time being.

Looks like we'll have to handle things ourselves from here, judging from the lack of a welcoming committee. Whilst I imagine we'll have to check-in with the commissarial depot over there, whose up for a little exploration?"

Helena shook her head. "I have a sneaking suspicion that I am not included in that invitation. No matter." She turned to her Sisters. "Well ladies, we have shore leave. A rare treat. But it is no excuse to lower your guard. Remain vigilant, make sure you stay within vox range at all times. Other than that, from now till we ship off again, your time is yours." She said with a slight smile. It vanished soon after, as she turned to the rest of the group. "Should anyone need me, I'll be in the gym." She then walked into the depot, signed in with the incredibly board looking clerk, and proceeded into the compound.

"i'll help you get out of those Lith. and you should wear a body suit under that, it make the entire thing smooth and fluid in motion when moving around." Solara said with a smile to lith. "and we need to find a hotel or something. it's been forever since i had any semblance of luxury." she said and gestured for lith to follow her towards the comissarial depot. Walking inside, she looked around for the nearest person with any authority.

[hr]

Sana shook her head to anthony's question. "I'm sorry, i'm afraid not. However, depending on how old you are, there's a good chance it might have been one of my sisters. or well... clones as they're called in technical terms. But i was always kept off of frontlines, despite being stationed with guardsmen a lot." she responded to the techpriest. Letting them ride down, she was happy when she got up and out and looked around. "where do you think the nearest mechanicus office is? i need to speak to someone about my rune priest status..." she explained to him.

[hr]

Momaru shrugged in his armor. "The sisters seem to have a begrudging respect for the inquisitor. The inquisitor only seems to ask for respect from them and is relatively ok otherwise. she doesn't seem to hate them." the terminator explained to the dreadnought. Once they were down, it didn't take long with his hammer to simply smash the restraints free and help the dreadnought get outside. "Well, we have free time now. i can only assume that you don't drink much anymore." Ru joked and laughed, poking some fun at the dread. "Anyway, i do enjoy telling tales and killing things. want to try and find some group of civies or guardsmen to impress and uplift, or go to the wall and help out. Up to you brother."

"I'll help you get out of those Lith. and you should wear a body suit under that, it make the entire thing smooth and fluid in motion when moving around.

Lith shot back with a short laugh. "Please...if I let you help, you'd spend more time molesting me than anything else; anyways you know how those things ride up your ass...well you might not, but they ride up my ass something fierce..." She was about to make a smart-assed comment about the accommodations, when she saw Helena heading off towards the physical training facilities. "On second thought, I'll catch up with you later...I have something I wish to deal with...alone."

Separating from Solara and the others, she jogged after Helena, falling into step beside her. "Retributor Karr, I wish to have a word with you...privately."

[hr]

Egerion

Egerion could not help but chuckle at Momaru's joke. "Indeed not, but were I still flesh and blood I could drink you under...only three men have ever bested me in such a contest. My Brother Arik, Horus, and the Emperor Himself."

"Anyway, I do enjoy telling tales and killing things. Want to try and find some group of civvies or guardsmen to impress and uplift, or go to the wall and help out? Up to you brother."

"Well if that keeps you entertained Brother, far be it from me to stop you, but I intend to locate a heavy machine shop...Sana did a fine job on this arm, but I am afraid my paint work is in dire need of refurbishment...I also do believe I still have a piece of Ork stuck in my right ankle joint, or perhaps it is Tyranid."

Well it appeared that the decision regarding whether or not to explore was split fairly evenly, though there were ones like Lithian who wanted out of their armour first before anything else, which made sense given how the hefty Power Armour didn't exactly give someone that much freedom of movement. Dante noticed Lith chase after Helena and it appeared she was talking to her, but he was too far away to make out what she was saying.

As people were beginning to file out of the Thunderhawk, Dante gathered up his things and stepped out of the transport as well, and properly took in his surroundings. Everything appeared to be well maintained as people were going about their business; Dante slung his spear across his back as he massaged his neck muscles as they were starting to ache.

"Speaking of uncomfortable armour, Urd, I take it you'll want out of yours as well? Probably not the most comfortable of things to walk around in I'll bet." Asked Dante as he turned to look back at the transport.

"Yeah, I kinda would like to get out of it, though not cause its uncomfortable" Urd then then motioned to the base as a whole "Probably not the best place to be wondering around in nicked Xeno gear, besides, no sense lugging it around till its fixed." she said as she walked over to him "so, lets go get checked in then find me something else to wear for now. Then go have us a look around town." she said as she pull him playfully toward where every one else was being checked in.

Helena moved passed the clerk and headed deeper into the depot. First my armor, I'm sure the Inquisitor made arrangements for more.....public appropriate attire. She thought as she made her way towards the bunk room the clerk had mentioned. She was looking forward to relaxing for a change. Maybe her augmentations wouldn't ache so much if she were able to work out some of the stress that had built up over the years. Her mood dropped when she heard someone chimed up beside her.

"Retributor Karr, I wish to have a word with you...privately."

She tried not to sneer, she told the Other woman in the routine, Urd if she remembered right, that she would cease open hostilities. But this woman tried her patience at every turn. "And I would like to get out of my armor and get to the gym, yet here we are." She said with a roll of her eyes. She stopped and turned and faced Lith. "You want to talk? Fine, but we'll do so after I get out of my armor. Meet me in this compounds training facility in ten minutes, you'll get your talk." She said quickly. She turned away and started down the hall again. "And please, take all the time you need."

Helena's attitude tore at Lith's nerves, making her fight to stop herself from just throwing a punch then and there...which really wouldn't help things. Instead, she just push the feelings down, keeping a stoic expression as she stood before Helena.

"You want to talk? Fine, but we'll do so after I get out of my armor. Meet me in this compounds training facility in ten minutes, you'll get your talk; and please, take all the time you need."

"Very well Retributor, thank you for your time." She replied calmly, as Helena walked off. After asking a couple members of the base's personnel for directions she acquired some PDF issue PT gear, before making her way to a machine shop where, after some consternation by the techpriests on duty, she was finally released from her armour.

From there, she headed over to the training facility where she showered and changed, before stepping out onto the training mats. With no sign yet of Helena, she walked to the middle of the room and settled into a parade rest, facing the main doors.

[hr]

Egerion

Finding a machine shop was easy enough, he simply looked around until he spotted a Guard tank emerging from a building with some obviously fresh repair work done to its armour. Entering through the open door, Egerion could hear Momaru chuckle as their presence made the whole shop jump.

After the initial shock wore off, he was able to speak with the senior techpriest, and convey what work he would like done. Once he finally managed to convince the senior Priest that he was actually okay with mere PDF Enginseers doing the work; a team of them, and their accompanying servitors, set about repainting what needed to be repainted and dislodging what turned out to be a chunk of Ork skull from his ankle joint.

While the Mechanicus personnel worked, he and Ru lapsed back into their usual routine; trading war stories, and making disparaging comments about the state of the current Imperium. "You have managed to surprise me Brother." He said after a while. "The few that I have told my full story to...generally they then hound me with questions regarding Terra during the Unification Wars, and about the Emperor..."

"Yeah, I kinda would like to get out of it, though not cause its uncomfortable." Urd motioned over to the base as she spoke. "Probably not the best place to be wondering around in nicked Xeno gear, besides, no sense lugging it around till its fixed." She then made her way over to Dante who was just moving a few strands of hair that had fallen in front of his face. "So, lets go get checked in then find me something else to wear for now. Then go have us a look around town." A surprised yelp could be heard coming from Dante as Urd began to light-heartedly pull the Psyker along to where the check-in desk was.

Sometime Later...

Dante was standing outside one of the changing rooms with his arms crossed, waiting for Urd to get changed into of the civilian gear that she'd been issued by a quartermaster. The actual check-in process was lengthy, as several questions were raised regarding some of the more questionable items of gear, mainly Urd's flight suit, eventually though they were cleared and allowed to go on their way.

"How's it going in there?" He asked in a slightly raised voice so that Urd could hear him through the thick walls.

The check in process was just as annoying as she'd thought it be. To many questions that she'd already been cleared by a higher on where asked, fortunately they where cleared before they started pissing her off by making her repeat her self to much. She was, naturally, issued more standard clothing and shown to a locker where her suit and weapons would be stored until needed, though it would still need to be fixed before then.

"How's it going in there?" Dante asked in an elevated tone, presumably so she could hear him, but she came out shortly after "Ready to go I guess." Urd said. She was dressed in a tank top that was a size to small for her, pants that where a size to big, and boots that where two sizes to big and jacket she'd nicked to cover her self a bit more, that she'd made sure was the right size before taking it, besides it looked like jacket weather out side "It'll have to do for now I guess" she kinda grumbled to her self about the clothing she'd be given."
