Actually I'm against censorship. Especially when related to sex, swearing or "offensive material". But to remain on topic actually controlling what a person can say in a private conversation is so indescribably bad. That goes far beyond censorship. I'm not blaming Apple, I'm blaming that one particular group who gets off scot free when it comes to protecting and informing kids. The parents. Also I'm 20 and don't own an iphone so if you were trying to antagonise me with that last bit it's not going to work. No that does not invalidate my opinion much like my views of communism and oppression aren't invalidated by my not living in China. To sum up, when you can't say what you want in a private conversation the world has gone mad.

In all honesty though, parents are your legal guardians. Though they don't control all your rights, how often has your mom told you not to swear, or some such thing? I think it's well within a parents right to control something like this using this software. Although it were my kids I'd just hit them

Kids have been screwing around with each other since the beginning of time, nothing's gonna change that, especially not a phone filter. In fact I'd think logically parents should be happy their kids have cell phones these days - every minute spent "sexting" is a minute not spent having awkward unprotected sex in the back seat of the minivan you borrowed from your mom.
