I like to think I'm pretty good. I'm probably the most talented individual as far as games are concerned compared to my friends but I don't know many gamers. My skill lies in being able to learn new stuff quicker than most people but I have trouble improving beyond a certain point. You know, Jack of all trades, master of none. I am kind of shit at RTS games but apart from that I'm fine.
Besides, I usually play games for fun rather than for a challenge.

Ehhh, not particularly. I play games more to experience the world and story than anything. Any competitive urges I may have had at any point were promptly beaten out of me by two old sisters who would crush me at basically everything. Anyone with older siblings will probably be able to tell you that that's the quickest way to learn to appreciate a game just for the game. Not feeling the need to be the best, I feel no shame in lowering the game to whatever difficulty I feel will allow me to experience the parts of the game I am interested in best. Most of the time that's normal, but if I die one too many times then I will turn that shit down to easy and be glad for it.

I'm pretty good at racing games, but not so much with most other types of games. I love Mortal Kombat, but I'm pretty below average at it. I play Halo and I'm okay. I'm okay at most games, but I can't beat them on Hard or anything higher. They're just to have fun, but I'm going to have a real difficult time to play Dark Souls.

I'm good at some games. Rhythm games, shooters that aren't completely fucked balanced wise (I'm talking to you, GTA IV online and every popular fps that ever existed...), and the occasional puzzle/platformer... First person shooters are fun, but their not my strong point at the best of times, and while I fancy myself a strategist, I'm kinda hopeless, and I get myself stuck in a bad position alot, but I can sometimes pull a trump card from somewhere, like a surprise attack, or a... something...

I'm 29 and I've been gaming since I was 4 or 5. I play everything on the hardest setting short of Oblivion so I don't think I'm too bad. I tend to be really good at stealth games and rpg's. I'm not too shoddy at pvp or fps either some guys I used to play L4D with said I was really good and I managed to get a decent rating on my wow priest in arena when they weren't exactly flavour of the month.

The thing I'm most proud of is beating Ninja Gaiden 2 on the hardest mode on Xbox.

My friend says I should do Let's plays but I'm way too shy.

I'm not a very confident person but gaming is one of the things im proud of.

Like everyone else in, probably the world: Strong points and weak points when it comes to genres.

I'd say I'm good at fighters overall, especially BlazBlue (The only fighter I've won local tournaments in :|). Probably the competitive play and mindset helps with that. Some things I can grasp better around Puzzle games and RPGs compared to most in my circle of people.

Don't let me touch an RTS. I will lose, you will lose, the company who made the game will also lose. I'm just that terribad.

In some situations (especially tf2 and lol) I can really ascend to be a great gamer and pull of really weird an nice stuff.. but most of the time in hovering in between average and good.

But somehow I never get above average in an rts game while I play those games the most. But I think that because I only have a few buddy's how play those with me

I've got a general gaming compatability. I can pick up a game and learn it really fast. I just get them. But I become an above-average gamer as far as sskill goes, then i hit a brick wall. It takes me a long time to move from above-average to really good... like a week of gaming.

I'm average at FPSs but pretty poor at fighting and driving games.

I like to think that I do well at RPGs and RTSs - I win most games on Total War multiplayer.

I consider myself to be quite good at videogames, probably not professional but still good.

I rather suck at RTS games though and FPS multiplayer.
lol
Are there any games that are not RTS or FPS played competitively?

I guess I am quite good at games. Obviously not pro, but I am kinda good at Starcraft and mediocre in FPS (better than most people on public servers, however I suck compared to actually dedicated players).
Oh and Minesweeper: 99 seconds (I know there are insane people who are way better, but I think it is not bad)

I'd have to say that I'm average. I play games on normal for the first play throughs and some games I have been able to play on harder difficulty and finish if I've playe through it on easy for long enough.

I do not do well on multiplayer games like COD, I usually get mowed down quickly but I don't like to practice. It does not hold my interest for long enough to get any skill at. However, I have gotten really good at GTAIV and can pull off long distance head shots with the pistol from muscle memory.

I consider my crowning achievement to be beating Final Fantasy X, I am the only one among my friends who has actually managed to beat a Final Fantasy game. That being said, most of my friends beat me regularly at Super Smash Bro.

In most games I play for a decent time my score is slightly above average, so I would say I am a GOOD gamer, but far from being anywhere near pro.

I don't play competitively, I feel that it takes all the fun out of playing, making it a chore rather than a pasttime. I usually select normal difficulty first playthrough of a game and rarely choose the 'hardcore' variant most games offer.

I like my games tough enough to be a challenge without being so difficult I just lose interest, cos then I find myself not having fun.

I'm not bad. I've given up on fighting games recently and though I really wanted to be good at DMC3 and 4, I just cannot play stylishly enough.

Fps' I'm pretty good, but who isn't these days? I am unbeatable at Wipeout.

I die in games...a lot XD I play them anyway. I just try to avoid most multiplayer because so many people are dicks about it. "You aren't GOOD at video games? Then why do you play!?"

I didn't realize that it was a requirement to be good at something in order to enjoy the full experience. >.>

Ive gamed since I was 4 or so with a mega-drive originally, grew up always having my dad upgrade our PC for gaming and buy the lastest consoles, and game we did. I'd be upset with myself if I was bad. But I find myself consistanly coming 1st or 2nd on Multiplayer games score-boards. My current game is APB: Reloaded, and im maintaining a gold threat level of 4 with stock weaponry so I reckon im pretty decent at it. Also, I despise racing games...like, completely hate them with a passion, they're just so boring. I am just incredibly good at them, make them look piss-easy. on the hardest difficulties against CPUs and online, I win 9 of 10 races or so. But my god do I hate them. Automobiles suck, just not motorbikes, love motorbikes like my Ducati 999 :)

I'm pretty good at RPGs, they're sort of my bread and butter. Grew up playing them. :D
Shooters? Meh~ I'd like to think I'm only really average at them with the occasional lucky hot streak when it comes to multiplayer. Often in single player I can manage to do the mode just above normal, but below the insane master skill level type difficulty. :p
Ah, the RTS. A genre that I'm constantly interested in but can never seem to be good at. My only real strategy in many RTS games that I play in single player mode is to amass as big an army as possible and go towards the objective. I can't even stand a fighting chance to those who compete in multiplayer.
Racing games? Well I never really tried them so much. I'd like to think I'm average in that area too based on the little experience I've had playing them.
Sports games? I'm pretty good at most of those too. :D At least against the AI I am. x3 I tried online multiplayer once. It did not go well.

Overall I think I'm able to easily breeze through most games on the normal difficulty, but I'm only pretty average as an online gamer in most genres.

Except the RTS... Oh how I can never seem to wrap my head around a strategy more complex than build and go to the objective destroying anything in my path. xD

I've always been good at reaction games, IE Quake(Mostly QL and Q3) and the likes. In CS I'm either awesome or trash, nothing in between.

Also, most of the time I'm the best player when I play LoL. I do however have to confess to me being quite stupid(not ALL the time) while playing LoL, what makes me good is my ability to farm and my builds.

Also in recent times I've become quite good at console fps. I'm not always top, but I'm near the top atleast.

Edit: I have some problem when playing certain games. Like when me and my other quake-friends get together and play the shit out of Q3 I just can't play fullscreen and use my headset. To play my best I have to take of the headset and focus only on the little screen(1024x800) on my 24"(1920x1080) screen.
I'm kind of wierd that way.

I'm no competition standard pro, but I tends to be able to hold out pretty well against harder difficulties and do fairly well in multiplayer battles. It's just practice at the end of the day, you do something a lot and you develop your skills with it.

I'm better at some types of games than others. While I am simply OKAY at FPS games like TF2 and Fallout, I excel greatly in music games like Pump It Up, ITG, and IIDX and learn to play games like Guitar Hero and DJMax Technika significantly faster than most (cleared all of Expert in the original GH within the first month it came out). I like puzzle games like Tetrisphere and Panel de Pon and consider myself skilled in the latter, but not on a competitive level. The only racing game I do well in is Mario Kart Wii, which I have stopped playing due to the increasingly rampant amount of cheating in online play (highest point count I had was around the mid 9600s or so).
