I will when I have the cash, Arcane did Arx Fatalis and I thought that was pretty good. This looks even better.

I'm buying it. It looks to be my kind of game (theme and gameplay wise so far anyway.) But the real (and kind of embarrassing) reason I'm getting it... It releases just after my birthday, and I'll get some cash or steam cards. So it's not like it's really "my" money anyway. That will usually make me a little less cautious on a game purchase than I might normally be.

Can't say what little I've seen interests me at all. I like Thief though, and I'm sure if an actual gamer explained why dishonored was so great I'd see the light.

I wasn't actually excited aboout it until I saw the GI article. Before that, I didn't know enough about it, because all the trailers didn't tell me anything. I was wondering why it got "50 E3 awards". However, I'll be getting it at some point, not at $60.

Game looks too good to pass up.Yea I'll get it.

Really enjoyed Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Arx Fatalis.

This game comes closest to satiate my Thief 4 fix until that game comes out.

I don't think I really have the specs to run it, so I might want to see if they release a demo to see how it runs.
Otherwise, probably, I love Arkane studios and so far, Dishonored seems like a really promising title

I honestly don't know enough about the game to make an informed decision.

Will keep an eye on reviews etc I guess.

It looks pretty good and I would like to get it but it isn't too high on my priority list right now. I may not get it when it comes out but I plan to get it at some point provided the user reviews are decent.

Steampunk + slightly cartoonish style is not my cup of tea. Also, body guard accused of killing his protegee and fleeing the scene? Hasnt this been used like 300 times already?

Gameplay looks interesting enough, but Im still not buying.

Yes, but I cancelled my pre-order today. Had both it and Borderlands 2 pre-ordered, but when I found out the playtime was 12-14 hours(according to the devs, so probably 10 hours tops) if you play less than überstealth I lost a lot of intrest. I at least didn't want to fork out £40 for it.

Borderlands 2 should last me at least a few days so it feels more worth my money. Will get Dishonored when the price drops by half of more.
I'm kinda dissapointed to hear what the lenght of Dishonored is, I expected 20/30 hours....

I pre-ordered in on Steam last night.

Free spy mask and Arx Fatalis for free convinced me to go for the pre-order.

I'm pretty excited for it, but I'm really worried that Corvo will be so overpowered that it will make the game less fun. Still, I'm hoping for the best :)

Maybe.
Long time down the road if I see it used and cheap at Game X Change or something.

Oh yes, although I'm not sure if I'll get that or X-Com on release.

A lot of people seem to be saying the protagonist is overpowered (because video game protagonists are never OP right?) but apparently there aren't enough upgrades in the game to max out every power and the few demo previews I've read all mention multiple deaths.

Judgments of how challenging a game will be from godmode level playthroughs and 10 second clips of particular powers are never going to be very useful.

Would you be able to provide links to those previews? I would be very interested to read them.

Sure, they're all from the same mission so there's quite a lot of crossover in these previews but people seem to be coming away impressed:

It's not a Bethesda game. It's an Arkane Studios game. Bethesda is the publisher.

And I would reckon my chances of buying it are around 75%. Depends on reviews and such. It is thematically up my alley so I will accept a few faults, but if I hear anything about gamebreaking bugs I'm waiting for a finished version. Just like any sane person should.

Dunno why people still pay $60 (often up front) for an inferior first playthrough experience from someone who paid less a bit later.
Because if the game doesn't sell well, there will be no "Finished version"

OT: I'll rent it first and if I think it is worth it, I will buy it, simple.
Name one game that didn't get patched because of low sales.
Kingdoms of Amalur: WRECKENING

OT: Yeah I'm getting Dishonored. I fear it'll be too easy, but still fun.
KoA:R didn't get patched because the studio got shut down before the game came out, NOT because of bad sa
