Asian Models Demonstrate Kinect Badly

Wow, I can't believe they made a game about 2 people running against each other.

WTH ... Can't 2 people just step outside and have a little race, instead of paying money to pretend to be running. Also, has anyone ever noticed that its far more difficult to 'run' while staying in the same place, compared to .. uh .. actually running.

This is the first time asian models have failed to impress me, in anything. Damn you Microsoft, is there anything you won't ruin.

Did you just jerk off?

Um....just hold on for like 5 minutes, thanks.
...Twice?

OT:
That's hilarious. I'm very surprised at Microsoft. You'd ever expect an error like this - it's not swaying my opinion on Kinect either way, though. There is no way I'm getting it.

Oh, and nice rack on the one in the green/blue outfit.

Now, Im no nay-sayer to flaming the Kinect, but atleast give MicroSoft SOME credit with it...

First off, the product isn't completed yet: they're still tweaking the technology and the games. Second off, the glitch could have been caused by MULTIPLE reasons: my guess is the Kinect Camera was positioned awkwardly and wasn't picking up the movements, or the camera got over-loaded by the movements in the background (they are in a convention center after all).

Also, notice the Flash from the Cameras? That might have something to do with it...?

Either way, lets wait till Kinect is out BEFORE we start saying how the technology doesnt work... If were going to hate on it, we might as well give it a CHANCE to (attempt) to prove us wrong...

Well this is just another nail in Kinects coffin. If it really that unresponsive then who would even consider this as a purchase.

the wii-mote doesnt work. It will misinterperate any motion that isn't rediculously overexagerated, and it misinterperets some of them too.

im gonna guess that one of the problems was the fact that a MILLION flashes were happening from everyone and their grandmas cameras

i dont know how well the tech copes with it

Could that have gone any worse? This is a joke. I'm expecting the Kinect to wind up being the next Virtual Boy: a complete disaster.

That might indeed be a problem if Natal can only operate on the visible spectrum, which of course would make its ability to work properly dependent upon the lighting of the room. This could possibly be avoided if it used IR, although I haven't bothered to look at the specs.

OT: Well, Natal dun goof'd. But let's be honest, who the hell cares about that fail when there are much more, erm, pleasant things to look at?

Didin't they try the exact same thing with Wii Fit? And didn't it only appeal for 30 seconds before the bad controls and lack of entertainment value killed the experience? Am I missing something here?

To be fair the game designers probably designed it for people just a tidgy bit less spastic.
If you expect your target users to be calm, focused, and concerned about the conservation of movement, you give them a controller, not a full-body motion control system.

Although I guess that theory is spoilt a little by the effect that occurs when you put most people down in front of a fighting game.

Inside the Microsoft Marketing Department:
"I know! Let's get some hot chicks to demonstrate Kinect so that all the game nerds will be too busy wanking it to notice that our technology is a colossal pile of crap and doesn't work properly!"

Why all the hate? Seriously, watch the video feed instead of the asians, and you'll see that they were standing too close to each other. It kept telling the one to move more left, which is why it wasn't responding to her. They were almost running into each other. All I see in this thread are Sony fanboys looking for a reason to prod at the Kinect more.

Microsoft will try anything to hopefully improve their sales in Japan, I have difficulty believing it will work.

Check out the guy taking pictures of their asses in the Race. Nice to see him appreciating Kinect's fluid motion.

Oh wow... well, I guess if you're going to try to be like Nintendo, you have to be like them in every way, and that includes having an embarrassing on-stage failure.
