Yet another Microsoft fail.

I'd insert a "sorry, can't read, too busy watching half-naked asian chicks" comment, but honestly they're not that hot.
Quoted for truth on both counts.

Kinect never struck me as a good idea, and this certainly doesn't help.

I went to the Animation Convention in Hong Kong two days ago, and I saw the Kinect demonstration.
Come on, it wasn't that bad. There were other people who went on stage to try it and didn't do as disastrously as those two models.
Of course, I'm still never going to buy it.

I have a 360 and a PS3. For $150, I'll spend another 50 for an actual Wii. I think legend of zelda and Mario alone would make it worth it because I would bet that the kinect is going to spit out practically the same type of games while relying on gimmicks. I think I would rather see another Halo game than MS going crazy for copying Nintendo further.

Today I saw my first kinect advertisement (in a way) while working out in front of the TV: It was a Macy's thing where they spent more time talking about cheap clothing for teens who were jumping about like morons as though they were playing on the kinect. That alone made me almost drop the weights on my feet (ouch) just to facepalm.

You know what i just noticed? it's Kinect, like connect i guess. I always thought it was kinetic, like the type of energy associated with movement. i guess i caught dyslexia from a gas station mens room or something.

still now that i think about it, kinetic would make more sense.

Kinect... I facepalm in your general direction. Why don't you check yourself before you wreck yourself?

I'm sure everyone was watching at the models and not the screen, so it all works out fine for the people that attended the show, I'm sure.
I sure was watching the models since the horny pig only filmed them and didn't care much for the screen. Anyways always funny to see new technology fail and old school girl x2 action win.

Hurry! Someone play the racist card!

I still don't think Kinect is good enough. If someone I know is exited for it, I just tell them to picture their living room. Then I ask, can you jump around in it? The universal answer is no, because they have A) a TV, and b) the fucking system that wants them to jump around.

I actually think this was the models fault, the screen was telling them to move left and occasionally said to come forward. And like someone mentioned before, the models were really not that pretty.
Lol... if Blaming the User is a reliable response then Microsoft has already won and your expectations are not very high

I want my tech to work for me ,i don't want to work for my tech .. move forward.. why don't you do your job and track my position kinect

Okay that was just painful. I don't care how hot and half naked the models are, nothing is worth watching "Dance" Central with a Lady Gaga track. Truly a video to make one envy the blind and deaf.

As for the sports game, maybe next time they should put the instructions in a language the players can understand? I'm sure that "Move Left" written in English meant as much to that player as the Japanese title of the YouTube video does to me: absolutely nothing but a bunch of random gibberish.

This was shot at Hong Kong Exhibition Center, these models are from Hong Kong and as such have been educated in English and Chinese.. so they can read and understand English

It's odd to me how you guys jump all over this, like its some personal affront to you that Microsoft is attempting to make a motion capture controller for their gaming system. Is there something about this tech that I don't know, like they squeeze puppies to death to make some anodyne for the internal circuitry?

Personally I think that the best thing about this system is the capacity for it to take pictures of your friends acting like total retards, which can then be posted to facebook or something. That would be epic at a party with much beer or margarita's involved.

Kinect seems to be shaping up as a massive stupid failure in every way. On the plus side they will proceed to cater massively to the hardcore market to 1. Make some of their massive waste of money back and 2. Make sure as few people as possible jump ship (and some will).

Does anyone else think of natal and kinect as different things? One was a great idea and fullof potential, the other was a Wii popularity cash in.
I know. It's like a different tech.

I had already lost intrest in "Kinect" by now anyway. Which is sad because I had high hopes for it, back when it was called Natal.

Well if I was buying models, I'd be sold. Since the Kinect was on the table, I'm going to pass.
