Be nice if folks banded together and stopped electing people like this. But just enough people vote who also don't know how to read (I'm nicely saying enough voters are retarded).

Until we work harder on proper education we'll continue to have just enough people voting the wrong way to continue this sort of thing globally.

Maybe if Atkinson wasn't being so juvenile and (metaphorically) showing a child it's favourite toy then holding it out of reach, he wouldn't have a right to act smug when we throw a collective tanty over it.

Have gamers in Australia acted in the best interest of the gaming community? No. Is Atkinson responsibly utilising his power of veto? No.

The only thing that's going to get Australia an R18+ rating is Gamers 4 Croydon - or Atkinson's retirement. The latter will happen eventually.

I think this guy's problem is that he has arrived at a conclusion without using reason. And to quote a guy "you can not use reason to leaver a person out of a position they have not arrived at with reason" and now he is faced with being incorrect his ego (I'm assuming) won't allow him to admit he was incorrect so he has thrown on the old "all their evidence and support must be flawed" blinkers.

Also if he is so fearful of violence and sex I hope for his minds sake he hasn't touched the internet, or he will try and prevent the use of that next... no wait never mind...

Exactly how does Atkinson plan to 'finish' his crusade when he's trying to stop something from changing? Is he just going to carpet bomb the offices of every developer who made a violent game?

I think when he dies and Australia receives the games it deserves, it will be like a poor Eastern European country being given the fruits of liberty after years under a cruel dictator. Except with less babushkas.

Oh, oh! I just noticed something! He said nobody supporting him would get involved in the debate because they don't care and don't play games, but for the longest time he's been rambling about the "legions of supporters" he has from those outside of the gaming community. If nobody else cares, then why does that make the whole thing invalid. People not caring does not equal a "no" vote, it equals an "indifferent" vote. That means the vast majority of people will either be for the rating, or indifferent... which means there will be more for the rating than against.
