If you want there to be an 18+ category, then stop filling message boards and Atkinson's mailbox with hyperbolic statements of hatred. Yes, the guy is a knob. However, politicians who rely on rhetoric (as opposed to politicians who don't rely on rhetoric, who are incidentally rarer than the dodo) operate by ignoring the hard facts of whatever debate they're weighing into and making generic statements designed to infuriate and discredit their opposition. If you want to see evidence of this, tune into the Federal Parliamentary Channels sometime and watch them fling poo at one another. The entire point of this kind of tactic is not to outargue your opponent, because whoever is using it knows they have no evidence to win a civilised debate, but to make them lose their cool and look bad by getting angry while you sit there and grin smugly. Please, don't give Atkinson the satisfaction of being right in his allegations that gamers are violent people by nature. Stop posting stupid messages about which of his orifices you would like to insert your edited copy of Left 4 Dead 2. If you want to win this, keep calm, cool and mature. Post only rational responses to his arguments, and continue to point out how shallow they are. Eventually the voting public will see that the majority of those calling for an 18+ rating are adults, and prepared to act like it, and they'll grow tired of Atkinson's rhetoric and vote him out. So please, keep it civil.
Actually, forum mods on gaming sites such as these should start taking the lead on this issue by deleting any and all posts that uselessly flame Atkinson. Just a suggestion.
