By underrated I meant pushed aside by many gaming fans and selling not as much as it should. I am all for the Wii U getting exclusive, but fuck off if they're sequels to multiplatform games. First Rayman Origins sequel and now this. :/
Also pretty sure Bayonetta sold quite well for being a new IP, so maybe I can cut them some slack for possibly 'saving' the game, will have to see what platinum says first about it.
They're being assholes though for making exclusive sequels to multiplatform games.
When people ask for exclusives, they don't usually mean they want a previously 'free' IP anyone can enjoy to get repackaged and taken away from them.ToastiestZombie said:It's either this or no Bayonetta 2 at all. Nintendo is publishing the game, and it was known well before that Sega canned it. So that's the reason it's exclusive. Nintendo you bastards, why not let us PS3, PC and Xbox players play the game!".hazabaza1 said:Sutter Cane said:snipIt's not Nintendo I hate, it's exclusivity. Exactly, it's one thing to go from exclusive to multiplatform and another to go multiplatform to exclusive.GenGenners said:When people ask for exclusives, they don't usually mean they want a previously 'free' IP anyone can enjoy to get repackaged and taken away from them.ToastiestZombie said:It's either this or no Bayonetta 2 at all. Also, it wasn't Nintendo's decision to make Rayman: Legends a Wii U exclusive. It was Ubisoft's, Nintendo had nothing to do with it.
And, Nintendo are being assholes for saving a game that had been canned? Bayonetta 2 would have never happened if it weren't for Nintendo. Be happy that it's coming, and stop getting angry that it's on a Nintendo console.
So you don't want ANYONE to have this sequel because YOU can't have it? C'mon...GenGenners said:A cancelled game is sad, but shit happens.
A game with a multiplatform fanbase that can't play it's sequel is just taking the piss.
I would rather it have been sadly but honourably cancelled than put on an exclusive shelf to taunt me forever just because I'm not specifically a Nintendo fan.

A "free" IP anyone can enjoy? Please, enlighten me how a Wii/Steam gamer like myself can get my hands on Bayonetta without forking over a couple Benjamin for a 360 or PS3 to play it. Or does complaining about buying a whole new system for one game only apply in the other direction?GenGenners said:When people ask for exclusives, they don't usually mean they want a previously 'free' IP anyone can enjoy to get repackaged and taken away from them.

It's being PUBLISHED by Nintendo. Good LUCK getting those rights out of their hands.Tohuvabohu said:>Terraria comes to consoles

I wonder how 'exclusive' this will turn out to be, I can see it being released on other consoles later on maybe. Although this is still quite surprising.
It's good that the WiiU has the attention of third party developers.
So basically: "If I can't have it, NOBODY CAN!"GenGenners said:edited in snip
Nintendo's publishing it. So while possible, it's extremely unlikely.lockgar said:"Timed exclusive."
There now I'm done.
What he said. On both accounts.kortin said:STOP IT. STOP ACTUALLY USING GREENTEXT. You aren't on 4chan, the text should not be green.
As for the topic: It's nice to see nintendo pulling themselves out of their "FAMIRY GAMES FOR EBERYWUN!" rut.
You do know that the WiiU does not rely heavily on motion controls, right?Therumancer said:Hmmm, well I kind of liked Bayonetta despite it not being my favorite genere of game, this is one I might actually have bought, but the odds of me getting a Wii U, or investing much in anything that relies heavily on motion controls are minimal.
Still got that awful tablet. using a touch screen coupled with regular controls is almost as bad and unwieldy as flailing your arms around like a spastic chimp.SuperRobot64 said:You do know that the WiiU does not rely heavily on motion controls, right?
hat actually works against your argument and Nintendo's marketing here. You would need to play the first game (it actually has a damn good story and kinda needs to be played for context) so Nintendo is not looking at you as a potential buyer. They're hoping to get the people who wanted more hardcore games from Nintendo consoles but chose a stupid way of doing it. Forcing people to buy a console for ONE sequel isn't smart. It hurts the chances of sales coming from the people who never played the first game due to not owning a PS3/360.VinLAURiA said:A "free" IP anyone can enjoy? It stupid in both directions because either way your forcing fans of the original to buy a new console to continue the story, or foring future Wii U owners who don't have a PS3/360 to buy one of those to play the original game. Its a lose lose.Or does complaining about buying a whole new system for one game only apply in the other direction?
Yahtzee wasn't mentioned at all in this thread until now. YOU just have a chip on your shoulder. It seems you think that ONLY Yahtzee has criticisms of Nintendo. How deluded. And Nintendo making decent, original content? Maybe you should stop taking Yahtzee as the @#$!ing gospel and try playing a few first-party Nintendo games.
In your opinion. But not an original IP as @GenGenners was talking about. Most people don't like being in pain trying to play video games. Maybe you're a masochist, maybe not but that games control scheme causes pain. And it was also very repetitive.Kid Icarus: Uprising? Game of 2012.
Because your word is fact right? There are plenty of FPSes that are considered better than the Metroid Prime ones. Like Counter Strike, TF2, Arma, Serious Sam, Painkiller, Metro 2033 and so on.The Metroid Prime games? With Wii controls, best console FPSes out there.
You mean Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy Again? What about them? The Galaxy games?
No, but one could argue that they are the same game we've been playing since the N64.SMG 2 was almost the same game as the original SMG, even some of the bosses were the same.Yeah, they're the next Mario game but why don't you actually crack 'em open and play them and you'll find they're not the same game you've been playing since '85.
And I'm sick of diehard fans coming on to these forums and raging about ANY Nintendo criticism. I'm also sick of Olivia Munn not wanting to sleep with me but I'll live.I'm sick of "gamers" constantly bashing Nintendo for supposedly not bringing out the good stuff while completely dismissing their entire first-party stable as "kiddy rehashes."
This last sentence doesn't even make sense. And yet six years later, you people still just cannot comprehend why Nintendo said "screw these bitchy mother@#$!ers, let's go find someone else" and made the Wii.
