Fuck off Nintendo. :/

I am all for the Wii U getting exclusive, but fuck off if they're sequels to multiplatform games. First Rayman Origins sequel and now this. :/
Yeah! Fuck Nintendo for letting sequels to two underrated games be made! Fuck Nintendo for saving a cancelled game that you all wanted! Fuck Nintendo for trying to shake off their casual, kiddy image that you all want them to shake off! Fuck 'em! /sarcasm
Your over reacting, a lot. Also Rayman Origins underrated? Are you kidding me? It's hailed as one, if not, the best platformer of this gen.

Also pretty sure Bayonetta sold quite well for being a new IP, so maybe I can cut them some slack for possibly 'saving' the game, will have to see what platinum says first about it.

They're being assholes though for making exclusive sequels to multiplatform games.
By underrated I meant pushed aside by many gaming fans and selling not as much as it should. I agree, Rayman Origins was the best platformer of this generation.

Also, it wasn't Nintendo's decision to make Rayman: Legends a Wii U exclusive. It was Ubisoft's, Nintendo had nothing to do with it.

And, Nintendo are being assholes for saving a game that had been canned? Bayonetta 2 would have never happened if it weren't for Nintendo. Be happy that it's coming, and stop getting angry that it's on a Nintendo console.

It's not Nintendo I hate, it's exclusivity. Very few games honestly "must" be exclusive, most of these ones probably being PC games of some variation. I just dislike the idea of a publisher taking a game that many people know and love and just slapping an exclusivity thing on it.
Plus, it seems like there's fuck all else coming out on Wii-U and while Bayonetta is bloody brilliant it won't be worth getting a Wii-U for.
It's either this or no Bayonetta 2 at all. Nintendo is publishing the game, and it was known well before that Sega canned it. So that's the reason it's exclusive. And still, everyone is saying "Oh, to buy the Wii U I need awesome exclusives!" but when an awesome exclusive gets announced people say "Fucking hell it's an exclusive! Nintendo you bastards, why not let us PS3, PC and Xbox players play the game!".
When people ask for exclusives, they don't usually mean they want a previously 'free' IP anyone can enjoy to get repackaged and taken away from them.
When people ask for exclusives from Nintendo for the Wii U, they want Nintendo to make decent, original content.

Exactly, it's one thing to go from exclusive to multiplatform and another to go multiplatform to exclusive.

A cancelled game is sad, but shit happens.
A game with a multiplatform fanbase that can't play it's sequel is just taking the piss.

I would rather it have been sadly but honourably cancelled than put on an exclusive shelf to taunt me forever just because I'm not specifically a Nintendo fan.

I'm sad I won't get to play it, but happier it's getting made and someone will get to play it.

Luckily I never cared for Bayonetta.
So missing out on the sequel won't hurt at all

So you don't want ANYONE to have this sequel because YOU can't have it? C'mon...

"I can't have the game, therefore no-one can have it!"

That is basically what you're saying. Many people will get the Wii U for this game, and enjoy a plethora of other good games (Rayman: Legends, ZombiU, Pikmin 3 etc), you'll be missing out because of your own fault.

A "free" IP anyone can enjoy? Please, enlighten me how a Wii/Steam gamer like myself can get my hands on Bayonetta without forking over a couple Benjamin for a 360 or PS3 to play it. Or does complaining about buying a whole new system for one game only apply in the other direction?

And Nintendo making decent, original content? Maybe you should stop taking Yahtzee as the @#$!ing gospel and try playing a few first-party Nintendo games. Kid Icarus: Uprising? Game of 2012. The Metroid Prime games? With Wii controls, best console FPSes out there. The Galaxy games? Yeah, they're the next Mario game but why don't you actually crack 'em open and play them and you'll find they're not the same game you've been playing since '85. I'm sick of "gamers" constantly bashing Nintendo for supposedly not bringing out the good stuff while completely dismissing their entire first-party stable as "kiddy rehashes." And yet six years later, you people still just cannot comprehend why Nintendo said "screw these bitchy mother@#$!ers, let's go find someone else" and made the Wii.

STOP IT. STOP ACTUALLY USING GREENTEXT. You aren't on 4chan, the text should not be green.

As for the topic: It's nice to see nintendo pulling themselves out of their "FAMIRY GAMES FOR EBERYWUN!" rut.

I wonder how 'exclusive' this will turn out to be, I can see it being released on other consoles later on maybe. Although this is still quite surprising.

It's good that the WiiU has the attention of third party developers.
It's being PUBLISHED by Nintendo. Good LUCK getting those rights out of their hands.

Anyway, Bayonetta I found to be overrated, but Nintendo's got another exclusive plus it shows their support of Platinum Games goes beyond the Wonderful 101

"Timed exclusive."

There now I'm done.
Nintendo's publishing it. So while possible, it's extremely unlikely.

What he said. On both accounts.

OT: Well, considering the project was almost canned, I say good on Nintendo. Maybe it was a cold business move, but it gets me something I want. Nice to see them actually walking the walk with this whole "we'll appeal to the hardcore" this time. Hopefully this keeps up.

Logically the fans of the original Bayonetta aren't going to buy a Wii U JUST to play the sequel. This is a shot in the foot of both Nintendo and Platinum Games.

Hmmm, well I kind of liked Bayonetta despite it not being my favorite genere of game, this is one I might actually have bought, but the odds of me getting a Wii U, or investing much in anything that relies heavily on motion controls are minimal.
You do know that the WiiU does not rely heavily on motion controls, right?

Still got that awful tablet. using a touch screen coupled with regular controls is almost as bad and unwieldy as flailing your arms around like a spastic chimp.

hat actually works against your argument and Nintendo's marketing here. You would need to play the first game (it actually has a damn good story and kinda needs to be played for context) so Nintendo is not looking at you as a potential buyer. They're hoping to get the people who wanted more hardcore games from Nintendo consoles but chose a stupid way of doing it. Forcing people to buy a console for ONE sequel isn't smart. It hurts the chances of sales coming from the people who never played the first game due to not owning a PS3/360.
Or does complaining about buying a whole new system for one game only apply in the other direction?
It stupid in both directions because either way your forcing fans of the original to buy a new console to continue the story, or foring future Wii U owners who don't have a PS3/360 to buy one of those to play the original game. Its a lose lose.
And Nintendo making decent, original content? Maybe you should stop taking Yahtzee as the @#$!ing gospel and try playing a few first-party Nintendo games.
Yahtzee wasn't mentioned at all in this thread until now. YOU just have a chip on your shoulder. It seems you think that ONLY Yahtzee has criticisms of Nintendo. How deluded.

Kid Icarus: Uprising? Game of 2012.
In your opinion. But not an original IP as @GenGenners was talking about. Most people don't like being in pain trying to play video games. Maybe you're a masochist, maybe not but that games control scheme causes pain. And it was also very repetitive.

The Metroid Prime games? With Wii controls, best console FPSes out there.
Because your word is fact right? There are plenty of FPSes that are considered better than the Metroid Prime ones. Like Counter Strike, TF2, Arma, Serious Sam, Painkiller, Metro 2033 and so on.

The Galaxy games?
You mean Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy Again? What about them?

Yeah, they're the next Mario game but why don't you actually crack 'em open and play them and you'll find they're not the same game you've been playing since '85.
No, but one could argue that they are the same game we've been playing since the N64.SMG 2 was almost the same game as the original SMG, even some of the bosses were the same.

I'm sick of "gamers" constantly bashing Nintendo for supposedly not bringing out the good stuff while completely dismissing their entire first-party stable as "kiddy rehashes."
And I'm sick of diehard fans coming on to these forums and raging about ANY Nintendo criticism. I'm also sick of Olivia Munn not wanting to sleep with me but I'll live.

And yet six years later, you people still just cannot comprehend why Nintendo said "screw these bitchy mother@#$!ers, let's go find someone else" and made the Wii.
This last sentence doesn't even make sense.

What "bitchy motherfuckers" (yes you can swear on the internet uncensored and no one will scold you) are you talking about? Who's this "someone else" they made the Wii for?

And why are you so damn mad? I can just imagine you frothing at the mouth while typing this. Have a beer and relax, just because not everyone and their grandmother (and believe me, Nintendo tried to sell to gramdmothers) likes Nintendo as much as you do doesn't mean they'll go out of business. Reggie Fil-Aime, while not the smartest executive is a big boy now and doesn't need to you be his Hyrulian Shield online. We like Legend of Zelda too, but like Sonic the Hedgehog, the Hero of Time needs to rest a bit. Same with our favourite plumber. They've already ruined Samus' reputation and that's what we don't want to see happen to our other childhood gaming icons. But their just that. childhood icons. Nostalgia is best left in your head, or played on an old console from time to time. Not bought for the 4th consecutive time because Nintendo re-re-re-re-released it like Ocarina of Time.
