It's not Nintendo I hate, it's exclusivity. Very few games honestly "must" be exclusive, most of these ones probably being PC games of some variation. I just dislike the idea of a publisher taking a game that many people know and love and just slapping an exclusivity thing on it.
Plus, it seems like there's fuck all else coming out on Wii-U and while Bayonetta is bloody brilliant it won't be worth getting a Wii-U for.
Yeah I gotta say I only really understand first party exclusivity these days. Though last gen I had a PS2... so I couldn't really complain about 3rd party exclusives.

This surprises me though, but I didn't like Bayonetta too much so I'll stay on my fence on the subject of the Wii U.

So....I own every system from N64 and forward (and many systems before then), my Wii mainly just collects dust because Nintendo seriously screwed the pooch with that system and since the Gamecube. My faith in Nintendo has been in slow decline until now when I just fully despise the company.

I will definitely not be buying a WiiU because it feels like more continued gimmicky crap. So I won't be getting Bayonetta 2 as an exclusive title, therefore Nintendo just someone else's company out of my money.

capcha: pandora's box...not quite nothing will come out of the WiiU so i doubt pure evil will come out of it.

As I said in the other thread, Good on Nintendo. Since the game was canceled apparently, now people will get to actually play it. And by the sounds of it they seem to have a pretty good launch window which is kinda rare for Nintendo. Well this just means more reasons for me to buy a Wii U!

Was actually thinking of getting the Wii U, but I need to see at least 5 games I want to get before I can consider it. 1 down, 4 to go.

O.T, Solvemedia; heart strings. Is it me or are these things getting smarter?

I need more info about release games. I am willing to support Nintendo, but there has to be games I want on launch or it's not gonna happen right away.

Logically the fans of the original Bayonetta aren't going to buy a Wii U JUST to play the sequel. This is a shot in the foot of both Nintendo and Platinum Games.
*Cough*Mass Effect 2 PS3*Cough*
The original Mass Effect came out on PC as well making it multiplatform. Mass Effect 2 also was multiplatform.

Bayonetta 2 is not only exclusive, but also exclusive with a company that has never carried the franchise, which is why people are scratching their heads at the lack of logic.

Good going Nintendo. You just published a game that us gamers believed was canned long ago. Heck yeah!
What makes me laugh is the fact that this game was cancelled just this May. This is going to be one rush and therefore mediocre game.

You got that right.

Never played the first one.
I like that Nintendo is doing something to attract the """""""hardcore""""""" crowd, but I also agree that there are better ways to do this than take an established game and throw the exclusive tag on it. Nice start Nintendo, now be creative or at least pay someone else to do that for you.

Okay, if you people think this will remain exclusive, you're nuts.

Here's what will happen. They'll make a big song and dance about how its an exclusive. Then, 5 months later, Sega will announce that a port of the game with far, far more content will be made for the Ps3 and 360 next year.

Its the exact same thing that happened when Microsoft published Ninja Gaiden II. Hell, it even happened in the same genre, with another franchise obsessed with tits and ass. The only difference is that, instead of just being the Ps3 market, it will be ported to the combined fanbase of the Ps3 and 360.
Nintendo is financing and publishing this game. They own it. There's as much chance of a multi-plat port as there is a 360 version of Mario.

Ninja Gaiden II was different. Microsoft published it, but Tecmo owned the rights. When the exclusivity deal wore off, Tecmo published their own version. Not the same here. Nintendo financed Bayonetta 2. They own it. As far as we're aware, they own the franchise now.
Sega still has the rights to it, and its safe to assume that they're co-publishing the game with Nintendo. I'd have to say that if this game does not sell well on the Wii U, they'll port it.

They did the same thing to RE:4 when they saw the demand for it on other consoles.

It just makes no sense to me that a sequel would go exclusive. It would make sense if the first game is exclusive but future sequels expand on different consoles. But the other way around? Is that a good strategy by any means?

Why make the sequel exclusive?
I don't give a flying fuck about nintendo but making bayonetta 2 exclusive is some first class bullshit.

I feel like this may be a bad idea. First off the Wii U is in Nintendo's mind going to put them back on top when they ultimately ignored the Wii's potential for a solid gaming system. I played and watched some of the games we had to basically kill several Nintendo employees for them to release in America. THEY WERE GOOD!!! Several other titles are never coming to us here in the states (Fatal Frame 4) because Nintendo of America is run by morons. And second: Wii U only? No. I am not buying a brand new system that's $400+ for a game. I loved Bayonetta with LOVE in capitol letters. But I'm not forgoing proper nutrition for god knows how long in order to pay $400 plus the cost of the game to get it because some greedy asshole wants to make their new favorite child stand out among the others. I did that with the PSP already because of Persona 3 portable and my eyes have never been the same.

I dunno, why don't you ask Metal Gear Solid? They started on Computers and Nintendo Consoles before become PS and PS2 Exclusives (Then going back to Multiplatforms). Aren't Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 critically acclaimed games?
