Spyro The Dragon

I... I got nothing.

Fallout 3

The repetitive enemies, I can understand why the super mutants looked the same and why the ghouls looked similar but the raiders had about 3 different faces and it really annoyed me.

That Metal Gear Solid 3, the best sequel to the indisputable classic of MGS1... still Isn't a good game.

It has a overly-ponderous plot, uninspiring music, broken controls and though has such great moments they are too few and far between. But the thing is it is just the most un-fucked sequel to MGS1 and closest to what I actually liked about MS1.

Heh. -across the internet high five- Always good to see someone who doesn't automatically hate JRPGs on the Escapist.
I don't hate JRPG's as such, I just find them difficult to approach and thus don't end up playing them. The last JRPG is played was Final Fantasy 8 for the PS1, and I probably only got about 3 hours in because I didn't have a memory card at that stage.

But I digress.

Dragon Age: Origins.

Fantastic game, one of my favourites, but advertising DLC within the game world, instead of, say, in the main menu? NOT COOL. Especially when the guy advertising it stays in your party camp, so he's always there, and you can't get rid of him unless you pay extra.

Baldur's Gate has a really slow combat system if you're a mage, and you have to rest every five minutes just so you can do some decent dps. Might have worked if they rebalanced the AD&D rules for the game, but I guess BioWare was too lazy.
Or maybe - and I know this will sound crazy - they wanted as faithful a representation of AD&D rules as they could manage in a videogame. No?

Fallout:New Vegas - Goddamn loading screens. There were a couple of sidequests around NV where I spent longer looking at loading screens than actually doing the damn quest

Mass Effect 2 - Getting disconnected from XBL kicked me back to the main menu on several occasions despite it being a single-player offline only game
weird I only have to start the game logged in after that its fine I can load and save with out trouble even if I get disconnected.

Bioshock had a horrific aiming system.
System Shock 2 has outdated graphics (I know that's cheating).
Portal gets boring after your fifth play through.
Portal 2 needed more puzzles involving all of the mechanics.
Dragon Age: Origins has an insane difficulty curve.
Mass Effect has stupidly long loading times.
Mass Effect 2 was simplified too much and lacked any real choices.
Fallout New Vegas has a horrific amount of bugs that puts me off replaying it. The exploration isn't as fun either as it feels more limited in design.
Gears of War 2 had an erratic plot and terrible dialogue.
Bioshock 2 has you in a Big Daddy suit and yet you still eat, drink and smoke to regain health and Eve...
Halo Reach they spent too much time concentrating on the multiplayer as usual.

I hated Deus Ex the first time I played it.

Glad I gave the game another go.
I still need to. It's hard to get into, I gave up on the original Fallout, tried again and loved it, but Deus Ex is harder.

Any tips on how to go about starting it?

Assassin's Creed II: Combat's too easy. In AC1 if more than 3 Templars showed up Altair would have to run for his life. In AC2 Ezio can take down a dozen or more Borgia goons easily even without smoke bombs.

AC: Brotherhood: The levelling up of your assassins (the missions) is lazy and plays like a Facebook game.

Dragon Age: Origins: The same problem everyone had--The Fade and Orzammar are way too long and repetitive.

Mass Effect 2: Most of the writing and characters were awesome. Any plot or character connected to Cerberus (with the exception of Jack) was stupid.

Dwarf Fortress, a truely stunning, incredibly deep game that is lost on almost everyone because the user interface was designed by assigning every task to a seemingly random button on the keyboard.

Portal 2, an absolute masterpiece and my new favourite game. It's just a shame that it spends so much time introducing you to new mechanics and then keeps them all separate, never combining them or using them to their fullest (this is especially evident in the co-op where each mechanic has it's own test course). DLC may negate this criticism, in which case the game is damn near perfect.

I could probably do this all day, but I'll leave it at 2 for now...

Mass Effect 2.
Why do good games end? it's a crime against nature... they should last foreva'...

no seriouszly:
Games I love but things I hated:
1.GTA IV - had everything going for it technologically speaking, but it kinda lacket diversity after a while... wish it had more crazy stuff to do like San Andreas & Vice City had... also I wish that you could actually buy a car ingame instead of just stealing 'em all the time. It's called "Grand Theft Auto" I know, but you should steal a car when you need cash or something, but not because you can't get to your destination if you don't steal a car...
2.Mass Effect 2 - I wish it had more conversations THAT DIDN'T relate to romance... fuc-in' every female character is nice... but u get tired of that :p.

That's about it for me... I don't really make a habit "to hate" on games. I usually enjoy them for what they are... but I do wish sometimes that they had more going for them, of course nothing is perfect, but a guy can dream, can't he :p?

Mass Effect, the Mako was awkward to control and the constant deserts you drove it around in got boring as well.
In the sidequests, there were only 3 different building types all copy pasted each time.

Pokémon B/W has the entire bottom screen being c-gear. I would rather another version of the pokétch or something like SS/HG had which allows menu access without pressing a button.
Agreed.

And they still need to do something about this god awful HM system. There hasn't been a reason for it to stay the way it was in 1st gen since the 2nd gen when HMs were always in your bag's TM and HM pocket. Sure, it was nice that they decided to just make Strength be used to push rocks into holes and have the rock stay in the holes for all eternity after they fall in, but it's still not enough. I am tired of lugging around HM slaves.
